jakes114: This is a dull board is there no one with some comments on this company I bought in on the thought of lower fuel costs and since then the share price has dropped with just a handful of shares traded looking back the long term trend has been good plus a reasonable yield Ideas anyone Jakes
phil140158: Hi Bunnji, good to see someone else is watching GOG. Yep - still got all mine. Sitting on a 40% plus gain on the share price, plus the dividends, so done well. Tested £19 today and pulled back, so maybe that'll be the top. Watch and hold for now I think.
keran: I think you have a point TRT. GOG goes EX dividend tomorrow or Wednesday and that will be a further 25.5p drop in the share price so yes it could trigger a sell off after that, especially if Cyprus turmoil escalates to the wider Europe. As you say IMHO
trt: I accept we could see a fall in the share price from here due to the Cyprus issue and markets are very nervous, time will tell.
keran: Bunnji, Some of your comments are rather unnecessary I feel. Yes TRT is very bullish but there is nothing wrong with that really.I have to say he has been right quite a few times in calling the share price and whether he has topped up or not doesn't really matter, the share price is rising nicely so we all benefit in the end.
trt: Results tomorrow - share price rising looks good !!! Glad I am on board already !
trt: If GOG win the Thameslink franchise the share price will rocket. At the moment nothing is priced in hence the share price not moving above £13. I am here for the yield currently over 6% can't get that in any savings account ! Share price growth is just a bonus.
trt: Generally you see a drop on ex divi day but what often happens is the share price holds up especially when it is wanted by investors, which very much seems to be the case with GOG. I think we will see the GOG share price continue to rise after going ex divi and if demand is so high we may well see a rise on the ex divi day itself. Ex divi date 17th March Record date 19th March ( all important ) Payment date 1st April Don't forget the Interim management statement is due on the 29th April Topping up on any slight weakness over the next few hours
trt: Nearly 12 months ago in September 2008 during the stock market turmoil and depths of the recession the GOG share price along with every other share was marked down heavily - GOG was down to £18.Now with the recession virtually over GOG remains undervalued as Normua pointed out in its broker upgrade last week. Currently at £15.60 GOG still has plenty of share price growth remaining as fair value should now be well above the lows of £18 in Sept 2008. IMHO
phil140158: steve517499, thanks for that, I'm suprised the news on Sunday/Monday didn't impact on the share price! Perhaps in other circumstances it would. There must be an element of takeover/merger creeping in to the GOG share price, the upward surge can't be on the back of the results alone. I'm holding and watching (cfd and sb positions trt, not shares) for now, but I'm gonna cash 'em in shortly!
