23/2/2013 18:53 | Phil Point taken, however £100 mil profit on the buses is at least two years away probably three, and it is just that, a forecast. I quite like the fact that they are into trains, given that it can be very lucrative, and lets have it right they ship over a million people a day on them,to be fair the latest franchise debacle is not the best and out of their hands, however i suspect some of the franchises awarded as a result may well have big implications for those they are awarded to. | bunnji
22/2/2013 21:29 | Bunnji - if they are forecasting a £100 million profit from the buses makes you wonder why they bother with trains at all? | phil140158
22/2/2013 21:12 | WHHHAT no expected good news,,,,Never,,,,, but all is so good !! that bloody good the share price rose by errrrrrrr not one iota!!!! well who would have thought, and who knows may even drift back down to £13 Now without the rampers, rose tinties, and the desperate one that bought in for £20 plus and has not shut up since...As for "all good" jeez Go-Ahead Group Plc (GOG), Britain's top rail company by passenger numbers, said the government should issue a franchising timetable and resume contract awards to clear a logjam caused by the discredited West Coast tender..(read as very good) "In the next couple of months they need to set out the program for the franchising timetable, which franchises are coming up and when," Chief Executive Officer David Brown said in a phone interview after reporting *SLUGGISH first-half profit. (Read as Excellant) Contracts that were close to being handed out before the state-back probe, including Thameslink, a route in southeast England for which Newcastle upon Tyne-based Go-Ahead was a shortlisted bidder, should go out to tender this year, he said. (Read as Fantastic) Britain's franchising system, under which companies have competed for routes since the rail network was privatized in the 1990s, was suspended after flaws were detected in the award of the West Coast line to FirstGroup Plc (FGP) ahead of the incumbent, Richard Branson's Virgin Trains. A report into the system from Eurostar Group Ltd. Chairman Richard Brown, published on Jan. 10, recommended that the process resume with some modifications.(Read as Outstanding) Go-Ahead's net income for the six months ended Dec. 29 was little changed at 26.9 million pounds ($41 million), it said in a statement today, with operating profit flat at 51.2 million pounds and sales 8.1 percent higher at 1.3 billion pounds.(Read as AMAZING) Brown is seeking higher returns from its bus unit as the franchising holdup clouds the outlook for the rail sector. (Read as seeking!! err Breathtaking) stating income from buses should meet the 100 million- pound target set for fiscal year 2016 as the company replaces cash ticketing with pay-in-advance smart cards and keeps costs down, the CEO said. The division's operating profit gained 5.4 percent in the first half to 37.1 million pounds. (Read as SHOULD ??) As for the good !!!! The stock traded 0.9 percent lower as of 9:59 a.m. I really would love to see this lot do better, sadly not the case, divi is good for now but will not remain like this if trains do not provide, if it makes peeps feel better bunnji has a price target of £50 !!!!!!! well if they can,,,,, thought i may as well join in with some frivolity... :-)) | bunnji

20/2/2013 17:51 | Yes, trt. Big notch up after 15.30 so we might expect good news tomorrow? I had GOG for my 2012/13 ISA and I'm happy enough with it. Fancy BG for 2013/14, but it has notched up quite a bit from it's year low, so I'm not sure. Not sure we've got £10k of free cash either! | phil140158
