|dusseldorf: sandbank - for a start, you couldn't have invested your pension money...you'd have been able to buy say £2000 max at any one point in time, the more you want, the more you pay. The majority of people are about breakeven now i.e. with trading costs and the spread, they'd be luck to walk away with any profit.
If you try and sell on the other hand, you'll quickly find that the bid drops away without a trace (my prediction for example from about 9am tomorrow morning after a further rise in the first hour).
Then your large stake becomes a lead weight which forces the price down as you try to sell....suddenly you find even though the MM's were quoting you above bid yesterday - they're not quoting you at all now, in fact even if you sell via best price you still only get e.g. 0.05p below the bid.
you quickly find what goes up must come down - especially when there is a possible legal charge of circa £3m hanging over the companies head i.e. the company would go bust if any of the accusers was victorious.
Just my opinion, but the only stocks you should bet your pension on are large blue chips, whose assets are far above debts and only market sentiment has driven the price down. THUS is a good example....with assets after debt/liabilities of 220% above current share price. When they make a real (not operating profit), they will move to 30 - 40p, currently 14p.
GLW is worth 0.12p, it will go back to 0.12 (unless legal concerns are lifted and it returns to profit consistently over several months)|
|sandbank: DUSSELDORF: I'm just trying to work this out.... If by some supernatural powers I had forecast today's share price move and I'd invested my entire pension fund in GLO at - say - 11:00 this morning, would I be better off tonight?
I reckon that killing spread of 25% would have drained the testosterone out of even the most adventurous of gamblers - it certainly did me.|
|responsible lad: Thankyou sade bonita. I just wish I played the game I sometimes do on these shares then I would of made thousands today, by keep on chasing my buys with more money in order for the mm's to keep upping the share price. If I had we probarly would of closed at 0.4p, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.|
|responsible lad: I only have the 75K left which I bought only to get the share price up to 0.19p to sell the bigger lot.|
|maut too: dreamer - you seem to spend all your days looking for any share that i have ever invested in and that have gone down at some time
This may surprise you but I have probably traded all the LSE shares at some time and even I cannot guarantee all the shares will go up for ever ... you are a moron if you think otherwise OOOOOOPS .... nails and head come to mind
maybe you would care to cast your eyes over the following posts making a mental note of the dates

PennStreet ... like most penny stocks this is a punt to a certain extent - good news is anticipated but there is relatively little coverage unless/until something breaks.
vols are not exceptionally high but a few delayed sell trades now showing - with few if any buyers - the share price will tend to drift.
We are still well up since we started but if you feel uncomfortable - you should sell

PennSreet ... you shouldn't have a bottom drawer - we are still up since we started - take profits :-))

I think the shares will bounce again but clearly everyone is waiting for news - personally I wouldn't use a tight stop loss on this share but even at 1.78 you are only marginally down ... if you trade - you must accept that you will be unlikely to win all the time and must use an exit strategy|
|tyranosaurus: With all sales today I predict another fall in the share price next week.|
|tyranosaurus: Suspension will stop the share price going down !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!|
|1947man: Well guys , i hear that D.G. had a minor heart attack a few weeks back and is have an op, shortly . Figs will be out shortly sales are going well expect profits to show a good increase , so i am told . This could explain why the share price has been drifting , if they fall below 1p im a buyer big time.|
|greenrichard: I sent this email to GLW today.
As a private shareholder, I am disappointed that following the RNS reporting the interim results on 29/08/03, there have been no further announcements since the disposal of Primary Storage Unit in October. The share price continues to drift lower and I am seeking some reassurance.
Could you let me know when you plan to release any figures or news shortly regarding the growth of the company.
I would also like to bring to your attention that the Investor Relations page on your website has not been updated for a long while.
I will let you know if/when I receive a response.|
|dividend123: company looks like it has turned the corner, and the turnover has been increasing at a rapid pace. So assuming costs have been kept under control it should make a profit this year, which will help the share price increase. Wouldn't want to guess the share price.|
