08/5/2008 08:07 | well BDI above 10,000 now.... so should be a good year for GOC... slap | slapdash
06/5/2008 16:19 | Shipping related stocks doing nicely today -look at BMS. | davebowler

06/5/2008 10:12 | Slap Shes looking good isn-t she! | robsy2
06/5/2008 09:14 | edging up ever so slowly... still on a P/E under 3.5X for 2009.. and BDI is at a recent high of 9,581... so cheap and with momentum behind it... very illiqued so good news could squeeze us up... bring it on... slap | slapdash
01/5/2008 09:52 | deadly - yup HCL appears lowly rated too.... I think about 3.4X 2009's earnings... the discounts must reflect worries about declining frieght rates and so future earnings collapses... probably a correct assumption but all a question of degree.... I think GOC should pay out about 25% of its stock market cap as a dividend in the next two years and say about 35% in the next three years for example.... Slap | slapdash
01/5/2008 09:44 | Well hcl announced today that their latest ship will charter at $54k/day from May for 3 years so that suggests there is long term support! | deadly
01/5/2008 08:13 | there was something about it in last weekend's FT.. basically saying that although there are a lot of ship orders for the next few years in the medium term the record sums reached for Iron Ore from Brazil have put frieght rates up in the short term... I don't know how much it really changes the picture for ship owners like GOC as we may get a large supply of ships in a few years which push frieght rates down massively... in fact that would be what you would expect afterall how can it have cost 800 to charter a ship in 2002 and then only a few years later in 2007 over 10,000.... it must surely reflect ship building lags as these must be super normal returns on the current ships... thus it must stimulate massive ship building.... I hope GOC and their ilk lock in rates for their ships for the next few years!!! Slap | slapdash
28/4/2008 14:22 | Yes, it must have been a mistake - it's 9329 now !! | domwilliams
25/4/2008 12:51 | crikey mikey BDI at 9182... surely some mistake??? Slap | slapdash
23/4/2008 18:56 | BDI up I think about 3% at about 8,800... highest in about four months... Slap | slapdash
22/4/2008 19:38 | BDI at about 8,550... I think the highest this year.. i.e in the last four months... Slap | slapdash
21/4/2008 14:46 | Looking through the recent news etc, this years earning seem pretty "nailed on". Last years results were from 5 ships and we now have 7 on rates that seem to be higher as well. | rettah
21/4/2008 14:24 | is I think the cheapest shipper on 09's earnings with a P/E of about 3.5X for 2009.... going forward that P/E must surely fall??? So £1.50 here we come?? Also yield is huge.... Slap | slapdash
21/4/2008 10:32 | Nice move today :-) CR | cockneyrebel
21/4/2008 09:08 | Hi Slap Just brought into this. Like the look of the forward orders, rates and the divi. | rettah
21/4/2008 09:01 | what happened here .... there she blows!!!!! Slap | slapdash
18/4/2008 23:24 | frieght rates about 8,200 which does bode well... slap | slapdash
15/4/2008 11:50 | Yep she's on the move again.Lets see if it spreads across the sector. | robsy2
15/4/2008 09:49 | nice to see this tick up.... freight rates have held up... looks solid... Slap | slapdash
09/4/2008 13:05 | Seems to be happening on a number of shares - SDM too today, tho a seller has cleared so that might be the reason fo a tick up there. CR | cockneyrebel
09/4/2008 13:01 | I am pleasantly surprised by how little this has dropped today. Conventional wisdom would say 127p yesterday minus divi of 4.3 should be 122.7 today. So in effect we are up (a little, but every little helps...) | gepetto
09/4/2008 09:42 | Let me just clarify the position we are in at the moment. Anybody buying today or for the duration of the XD period will not be entitled to the 4.33p per share divi payment. Also anybody selling between now and the 11th April will still not be entitled to the Divi payment? If so can't imagine much in a way of trading for the next few days. | katsy
08/4/2008 12:17 | Harry K I hold for starters and read the bord from time to time. Nice to see the CEO buying but how many shares now in the family and friends circle? | a3477681
08/4/2008 09:01 | another 50k shares buy... I think 120k in total so about £160 grand... so a significant purchase and one which does show confidence.... slap | slapdash |
