07/4/2008 23:20 | Yes let's hope so Harry | sambessey
07/4/2008 22:45 | How many private investors have we got that read this board? I see mine as a long term hold and believe that the share price will catch up with the div yield at some time in the future. | harrykewell
07/4/2008 18:16 | yep, about time it firmed up again. CR | cockneyrebel
07/4/2008 17:00 | Highest daily volume for 3 months... probably doesn't mean much as about half was selling.. I think also this stock could go quiet as next results September... Director's deal does bode well but in an illiqued stock like this when there is a market wobble it is usually the first to fall... Slap | slapdash
07/4/2008 16:54 | Global Oceanic carriers goes ex div on 9 April, which is probably the main reason for the higher volume. Cheers bod | bird of dawning
07/4/2008 16:45 | Good volume today, although the day ended with 100k@125p. Good price if it was either a buy or sell. | katsy
07/4/2008 09:35 | yes its only in closed periods generally 6 weeks before results announcements that they are not allowed to buy. | lonrho
07/4/2008 09:30 | Are directors allowed to buy ahead of dividend dates. (11th april I believe) | katsy
07/4/2008 09:04 | Consistent and determined director buying over the last week. He must want that dividend badly! | deadly
03/4/2008 11:34 | Shipping problems explained.. I thought it was all a bit quiet :-) | kinbasket
25/3/2008 16:26 | Even better then, 0% tax! | luckyjonah
17/3/2008 14:42 | GOC is an "exempt company" for tax in Jersey. This means they pay a fixed annual fee of £600 and nothing else. I did think they fell under the IBC sliding scale rule that Jonah uses above but for whatever reason they are exempt. It's in the admission document and I confirmed it with the company via email last year. Nice work if you can get it :-) | kinbasket
17/3/2008 11:45 | According to my notes tax is tapered from 2% down to 0.5% after $9m. | luckyjonah
17/3/2008 11:31 | Shame I didn't sell in the 130's. Barely was in profit then, but now nursing an 11% loss. | katsy
15/3/2008 12:28 | ok, don't buy them them. I've pensioned these - lets discuss it in a year's time when I've had my divi's and my growth. CR | cockneyrebel
15/3/2008 09:05 | CR - you ramp something rotten! Does not mean its not a good investment but in this market I do not see any one piling in anywhere! I see they are registered in Jersey. Does this mean 0% tax? At least that would give a little comfort from the 5p or c 4% spread. | melody9999
14/3/2008 12:59 | Hold these a year and you'll probably get near 25p divi and in a years time the forward earnings likely to be a lot more than the 20p they look like doing this year imo. CR | cockneyrebel
14/3/2008 12:57 | that divi is 3.5% on 7 months trading. Had this been a year it's more like 6% and is likely to rise substantially in the coming year. They have declared they will be returning half the earnings in divi's. 8p earnings in 7 months, looking at nearly 14p eps annualised. Probably set for 20p eps in the coming year and a 10p divi imo. These will get tipped and the punters will pile in imo. CR | cockneyrebel
14/3/2008 08:58 | Agreed. If I want exposure to the sector, I've decided to stick to GPRT. I feel with GOC and GLBS us shareholders are an irrelevance in mgmt's personal fiefdom. | wjccghcc
14/3/2008 07:31 | Fabulous 7 month results and a cracking divi. These must be on a PE of about 5, divi yield something like 8% and astonishing growth. Bet those that scalped profits are back in again ! CR | cockneyrebel
12/3/2008 12:25 | Dont hold that one but had a quick look . Their results seem as good to me as the others. | robsy2
12/3/2008 10:39 | Any views on HCL's results??? GOC should have a further set of results coming up soon.... P/E for next year I think is under 3X???? Hopefully, another leg up at some point.... slap | slapdash
07/3/2008 21:58 | BID I THINK IS ABOUT 8600 (ACCORDING TO MY BLOOMBERG SCREEN) - COULD EVEN HIT A NEW HIGH WHO KNOWS.. see link below: These dudes should be in clover.... lock in the rates for the next few years chaps.... I think in reality these are a dollar hedge. How can i say that if their revenue is in dollars. Well it is like commodities. The BDI shipping indicies will go up to compensate for a weak dollar. Who rents all these ships? Those with non-dollar currencies (asia buying commodities etc)... so t he cheaper the dollar the more the BDI gets bidded up.. look at what has happened to gold and oil... up in large part because of the weak dollar slap | slapdash |
