09/3/2015 07:15 | 75p cash confirmed. Results read well. Cheap. :-) | liarspoker
25/2/2015 12:12 | on target - are you the village idiot per chance?? | wooster4
24/2/2015 21:56 | Minus there fat cat salaries. Makes no difference to me now I sold at 49. | wilk1
24/2/2015 13:09 | Looks like capitulation selling today. Update due in less than 2 weeks time should hopefully help. Unless they've spent it on office stationery there's still c. 75p/share of cash here. | on target
19/2/2015 11:28 | 14/10/14 : "The application of the remaining net proceeds will be determined following the closing of the Transaction." Are they still thinking about it or just decided they don't need to tell us? | on target
05/2/2015 15:25 | It's an IC article that's sent the share price up. Simon Thompson has opined that certain parties might want to see the co taken private and test minority investors with an offer in the 70s, they could clear us out and still have plenty of cash plus the asset value when it resurrects. Excellent deal for them, poor deal for minority but many would snap their hands off and off, recent entrants in particular. ST has guessed this wrong all along and it isn't what the FD said before xmas but who knows. | paleje
05/2/2015 14:04 | 73p would be from the recent sale of assets. If they sell the two remaining assets the cash balance will be substantially higher. | liarspoker
05/2/2015 13:36 | With any luck they have folded the company and are returning 73p share to shareholders. It will never go higher than that again with the current assets undevelopable. | wilk1
05/2/2015 12:13 | Going up on no trades. News on the way? | on target
27/1/2015 08:36 | looks screwed 20p on the way | opodio
26/1/2015 10:15 | Anyone surprised by today's news shouldn't be holding the shares. The only story is the 65-75p of cash. | wigwammer
26/1/2015 09:50 | They are legally required to release any information that could effect the share price, which quite clearly this covered since the price has dropped sharply. | rcturner2
26/1/2015 09:45 | It will certainly be interesting to see what happens to the share price of all the other explorers out there when they have to restate their reserves. What concerns me is that GED had no legal requirement to update the market now so I do feel that they are trying to drive the share price down as far as possible to make a low ball bid more palatable. I know that I will never invest in another small cap where management own the controlling stake in the business. | salpara111
26/1/2015 08:47 | Why put extra downward pressure on the price, everyone new the existing reserves are worth zero. Right, now would be a good time to start a share buyback scheme. Just half a million pounds worth for now. That may be the plan, let's get all the bad news out there and start buying shares back. Oh sorry I forgot that this is GED we are talking about. | wilk1
26/1/2015 08:38 | Market was spot on re this one. Zero value on the the reserves because they are worth zero. So much for that research report that put a 7 handle on the price. Shares magazine the kiss of death also here, tipped before the step down in the summer and recently tipped again. No more small caps for me ever again (nothing below 100m). Lesson learnt. What is the cash implied value now? | anangf
26/1/2015 08:20 | Enough already! wind the damn company up and give us our cash back! There are still a few decent sized independent shareholders who could get together and put pressure on the bod to wind up. Clearly the bod are never going to wind the company up on their own accord as that would be like turkeys voting for Christmas, my big concern is that having got the share price down to below half the cash value they will pitch a t/o over at 50p and effectively steal the company and there will be nothing any of us can do about it. | salpara111
26/1/2015 08:11 | I don’t see the issue with this RNS, it has been obvious for a long time that the Bolivar and Bocachico reserves would not be economical at the current oil price and according with reserve auditing they can’t attribute any value to reserves which isn’t economical. This stock has been trading on 40-60% discount to cash since they sold the Llanos asset, what that is almost always an indication of is that investor thinks that the management will destroy cash and value by investing in sub-par return projects. Today’s announcement should actually be seen positive as it indicate that the management won’t invest in the remaining assets as they are not economical at the current oil price, which is a prudent decision. When GED main shareholder HKN was traded below cash in the US the company started a buyback program, I would not be surprised if GED will do the same. I am buying the stock with both hands today, as today news shows that the company cash won’t be spoiled. | lowflow
26/1/2015 07:44 | Totally inept management here. Why put a statement like that out ? Everyone knows the current assets are unviable and are worth no more than zero. What we needed this morning was an RNS saying there will be a small buyback of shares thus creating an upward move rather than a downward move. Boss and his fat ate should do the right thing here and return all the cash to shareholders | wilk1
16/1/2015 06:44 | On Target Just my personal experience of another hold in my book. GED has no productive asset, certainly nothing that appears to be economically viable. Andmanagement will burn cash for sure. So pricing at a discount to cash is not anomalous. | anangf |
