|oilbuy: Global brands EGM on the first of June has specific reasons. Possibly the reason they didn't RTO UKOG was because the company is an investing company and we're not allowed an RTO. From Tom Bulford - RHPS last night:
GLOBAL BRANDS (GBR): Global Brands has made progress with its Dominos Pizza franchise for Switzerland but it has been thwarted in two other initiatives. One was to invest in a second restaurant chain in Switzerland, while the other was its pursuit of the Domino's franchise for Austria. To make matters worse Global Brands has today reported weak trading in Switzerland as a result of which it is going to de-list from AIM. That means that you will no longer be able to trade your shares on AIM and although some form of trading facility should be provided thereafter I would not want to put it to the test. I am afraid that the share price has dropped heavily today but my advice is to sell and retrieve whatever you can. SELL|
|edale: I have topped up for good or bad. Last trading statement was good and no apparent reason for recent share price fall on very low trading volumes. Domino UK obviously think there is a market in the Germanic countries with their recent purchase of the rights in Germany. Presumably also some spin off benefits for GBR if Domino start advertising on German TV and press as no doubt some of that will be picked up in Switzerland. Interesting to see what happens next week but I see it more likely to be positive than negative.|
|mr hangman: Ive spent the afternoon surfing the net reading up on Domiono Enterprises
it was floated in 2005 on the ASX (Australian Stock exchange)
Guess what the offer was oversubscribed, well i never..& shareholders
have had a great return on capital & dividends
Spent an hour comparing DSX share price proformance to DOM
The company has the master franchises for Australia,N Zealand,Holland,Belgium,
France etc etc with a turnover of 695m AUD it's a fascinating read for any pizza lovers & hopefully shows what us investors might look forward to.
One must wonder, if global get their act togeather & start adding stores
at a decent rate, which company will be knocking on the door for a take away
|mr hangman: Hi Happy, If you already have a decent holding i would wait until the placing,
if not maybe buy a few more then wait.
In regards of the share price, there may be a temporary drop, but if the
issue price is near the share price & they get some named shareholders &
the directors put some decent money in it could even go up.|
|happysnoopy24: I'm looking to add to my holdings here but note that there is to be a share issue in the near future to fund the purchase of Patagonia. Could the more experienced investors amongst you please advise me as to the likely impact on share price, ie should I buy now or wait until after the share issue in anticipation of a temporary drop. Thanks for your assistance.
|britishb: Yes RHPS tip. Was the price target 20p?
If GBR can get things working like the UK Dominoes (630m market cap) biz and comparing population of Switz v UK then no reason why GBR can't build a biz worth £60m which would give a share price north of 50p. Ifs and buts along the way of course but the current trend in like for like sales is very much like DOM uk over the last few years...|
|dabiz: Thanks FLOJO. Loking to hold for the longer term so not too bothered about short term movement in the share price. Seems to be enough stock about for the moment.|
