05/5/2006 14:12 | Encouraging - Market Maker BUY of 10000 at full offer price of 347 just gone through, followed by a T trade BUY of 6701 again at full offer price. Is there anyone glistening out there ? CH. | churchtower
04/5/2006 07:29 | Telegraph has a BUY recommendation this morning. CH. | churchtower
03/5/2006 14:52 | So what causes a stock to quickly appreciate in value? Fundamentals? News? Management? Well yes, to a degree. But what REALLY moves a stock price northward that you just purchased? Answer: A Huge volume of buyers having been directed to the emergence of that stock by a qualified service which has a reputation for doing so. THIS service does: lienocele.lemonpie.b | branfor
03/5/2006 14:41 | Cottlet - You will no doubt have seen the trading update today which is the main reason I suspect for the recent strength - 3/05/06 Glisten PLC said it is confident its full year will be in line with market forecasts after strong trading in the last few months. In a trading update ahead of an investor site visit, planned for May 16, chief executive Paul Simmonds said demand has been especially high for products from the Glisten Confectionery division, where like-for-like sales to the end of April are now running 9 pct ahead. Whilst strong Easter trading accounts for a proportion of this growth, the group said its year-round confectionery business also continues to grow well. Other highlights across the group include the continuing and successful focus on improved margins within the cereal bar business, Halo, and ingredients division, Nimbus; a 15 pct year-on-year increase in turnover across the Lyme Regis Fine Foods business, acquired in December 2005; and an 18 pct growth in sales for the Lyme Regis brand itself. Regards CH. | churchtower
03/5/2006 13:19 | Slow creep upwards for the last month. Anybody know anything? | cottlet
15/3/2006 09:13 | It's the cash that is interesting - more aquisitions on the way? | one for the money
14/3/2006 20:56 | I think that 50k protected transaction did the damage today, then the 50k broker transfer to shift it away? There didn't seem to be much of a reaction after the analysts presentation. Given what they've achieved in integrating the new companies, the interims were pretty understated. They do seem to be hinting at a lot of organic growth now they've spent a bit of money updating production, plus they're still looking for more acquisitions. | cootuk
14/3/2006 09:30 | Analysts meeting today (about half an hours time) I'm sure even the most cynical of analysts will be impressed with the results. IMO, the management have set a benchmark of how all companies ahould be run. I'll be toppng up too. | hughlss
14/3/2006 08:12 | maybe a T-trade sell given the drop so early? I might top up a bit more if it dips. | cootuk
14/3/2006 08:05 | ...and the usual sell-off. | bernstein
14/3/2006 07:54 | Stonkingly good interims.... | cootuk
10/3/2006 12:27 | Cheers H. The ACHL is an interesting one. Kept hoping it would come down but never really did! To be honest I tend to go for safe stocks (and would include GLI as one of those) but have a few Win (WNN) and Pipex (PXC). Let me know if you ever find that sure bet! | bernstein
09/3/2006 17:27 | well, Bernstein - price target? no - I'm a long term holder and I'm thinking in terms of 3 - 5 years to hold Glisten. But, you can't be absolute about these things - there's always the possibility that they'll be a stock market crash (not long after the housing bubble bursts!) Then again, sometimes life throws up an opportunity not to be missed. However, I work on the principle of a single share portfolio (did I mention this before?? - it's old age - you get forgetful - I'm 60) You have to pick the right one, but how often do you have a share that doubles (say) in a portfolio of (say) 10 shares - all you make is 10% - or less because another underperforms. I've also got very small stakes in Asian Citrus Holdings (ACHL) - tremendous potential, but just a tad more risky that GLI, also Neutrahealth (NUT)- it's underperformed but has potential and Genesis Petroleum (GPC) risky but worth a punt IMO. I'm up on the first, down on the other two - but such small amounts that they haven't negated the (paper) profit from glisten. I'm always on the lookout for that elusive share which i think can double - with as little risk as poss. cheers. | hughlss
09/3/2006 16:36 | if the market is so tight, it'll be interesting to see what happens if the figures are good enough to prompt even modest buying. | bernstein
09/3/2006 15:54 | I topped up again in my SIPP - I think there's still a lot of growth to be had and management seem to be delivering. Today looks like a nice little breakout up, though not supported by heavy volume. | cootuk
09/3/2006 11:10 | That's a fairly bullish view to say the least. Do you have any price targets for starting to take profits on your 90%? | bernstein
08/3/2006 22:54 | Well, I'm enjoying it too - but just can't think of anything to say!! Popcorn, ice cream topping, snack bars - hardly exciting. What about - top-notch management, organic growth, acquisitions? Actually, glisten is around 90% of my share portfolio - I see little reason for investing in anything else. Pretty much a dead cert./ no brainer. I sold off everthing else to buy more Glisten - and jolly pleased I did. And I'll be adding more. | hughlss
08/3/2006 14:46 | Well it seems this is enjoying a nice little run up to the results. Pity I'm the only one here enjoying it!! | bernstein
03/3/2006 15:40 | Nice recovery from the recent slide. Particularly encouraging to see the purchase of 6,000 shares with a 5p premium over touch price. | bernstein
21/2/2006 16:09 | I saw the text too, but Glisten publicly stated this a few months ago - sort of confused me as to why there was this no-content line of text and not backed up by any purchase or realannouncement...u | cootuk
21/2/2006 14:30 | Anyone see the item on Bloomberg yesterday? I only caught the text on the screen stating that they were looking at getting into the healthy food craze. | bernstein
20/2/2006 15:29 | I see the website has been revamped. The broker forecasts are interesting - they all seem to think there's a good 10-20% growth for the next couple of years, but some rate it a hold! | cootuk
06/2/2006 08:54 | Anyone care to guess Fridays closing price? I'm going out on a limb with 334-338. | bernstein
03/2/2006 17:49 | yep, it doesn't get more exciting than that - so, I'm off to watch some paint dry. (it's still one of the best investments on AIM, however boring it may be) | hughlss
02/2/2006 16:20 | I suppose this qualifies as an exciting day for Glisten, but at least going the right way! | bernstein |
