Nevada Geothermal Power Inc . (symbol NGP on the TSX-V / symbol NGLPF on the OTC-BB) is an alternative energy company focused on the development of large geothermal power projects in Western U.S.A. The company recently received funding from the US Department of Energy to further develop the strategic Blue Mountain geothermal project in Nevada . Blue Mountain has the potential to generate 100MW of energy to help meet the ever-growing demand for power in California and the Pacific Northwest . Because geothermal energy is a rapidly growing, clean alternative to coal, oil and gas-fired power plants, Nevada Geothermal represents an attractive investment opportunity in the energy sector.

Nevada Geopower (v.NGP)?

Formerly called:
Continental Ridge Power Development Agreement Accepted
NEWS RELEASE August 22, 2001
Continental Ridge has received conditional approval from the Canadian Venture Exchange of an agreement with Blue Mountain Power Company Inc. whereby Continental Ridge is granted an exclusive option to acquire a 60-per-cent interest in the Blue Mountain geothermal development project in north-central Nevada (see news in Stockwatch May 30, 2001). Continental Ridge will be the project operator.

Continental Ridge must pay $50,000 (U.S.), incur $1.7-million (U.S.) in exploration expenditures and issue 600,000 shares to BMPC over a three-year period to be vested. The first 200,000 shares have been issued. The remaining 400,000 shares will be issued in two equal instalments over the next two years with each issue subject to the approval of independent board members of Continental Ridge and acceptance by the CDNX.

The Blue Mountain geothermal development project has the potential to produce competitively priced, "renewable" electric power for target markets in northern Nevada, California and the Pacific Northwest. Geothermal plants currently supply about 12 per cent of Nevada's electrical demand demonstrating the viability of geothermal turbine technology. According to industry studies, Nevada has the potential to produce an additional 2,500 megawatts of geothermal power. To illustrate the economic potential, a 100 MW geothermal power plant at the Blue Mountain geothermal site would generate 832 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy per year yielding gross sales of $70-million (U.S.) per year based on a price of eight cents/kWh for electricity.

I find it interesting that ARM would want to use IMG's stuff when they've already committed to GIM.

I agree. IMG have never delivered volumne of anything they have ever made.
Nec make the chips for dreamcast . If IMG did, it would never have happened.
No threat to GEO.

I think it is worth noting that Nintendo will be launching the long awaited successor to the Gameboy on March 21st in Japan. This is the "Game Boy Advance" and ARM designed the 32 bit processor with embedded memory for it. This has all been done without any help from Imagination, but there must be a lot of interest in integrating graphics with ARM chips for any future version of this !

Given that small games are already popular with kids on mobile phones, there must be interest in improving the technology in mobile phones to support games, particularly for multiplayer usage.

Don't know Pipps. The other thread and this one are for information only. I didn't do anything in the end as the price movement for IMG yesterday didn't smack of a stock that was shortable. The Dreamcast news is certainly bad but until IMG make a comment or issue some sort of warning I think the market's going to concentrate on the ARM deal.

Imagination has never delivered the goods and I dont see this as any threat to GIM.

Imaginations main customer SEGA is about to pull out of the video games console market and that will leave a gaping hole in IMG's revenues.

Here's the full ARM / IMG announcement :-

If GEO's main market is video compression for mobile devices, then where does this paragraph in the above press release leave them?

"ARM has over 75 percent share of the embedded RISC microprocessor market in 2000, and has become a de facto standard in the mobile phone market. It is penetrating new markets such as networking, automotive, consumer
entertainment, digital imaging, smartcard and storage. ARM continues to
innovate the market, as shown by the introduction of its JazelleTM technology,
which is a low-power microprocessor solution capable of executing Java
applications at significantly enhanced performance levels. ARM is targeting
the PowerVR technology to co-exist alongside its ARM9TM and ARM10TM families."

FYI - I do not hold positions (long or short) in any of these stocks.

Addo, i can personally guarantee the authenticity of the above mail from Eli Riefman to Vincent Benedict. at the last agm, bene was chosen to be the voice of the people when corresponding with geo, and any official responce to the disgruntled share holders goes through Vince. I have met with Eli and his secretary Anna many times, who always have time for there share holders, and do every thing they can within the bounds of the fsa to respond to any queries one might have. Anna confirmed that Vince was the recipient of the e-mail from Eli in a e mail to myself today.
hope this reasures any doubting Thomas's
