05/9/2008 09:02 | Just bacxk from the hols & reading in!!! Having been to NPE, there seems to be a story developing about the value of the 9 area, which seems to be hotter than perhaps we knew over here. I have borrowed a few leads: Information on the Silverstone Energy website about Block 9. They have interests in a number of Block 9 sectors. StatoilHydro have taken a stake in Block 9/16 https://www.og.berr. Quad 9 Play Silverstone was successful in continuing its large 22nd round block in the Mariner- Gryphon area and acquired a CSEM survey and a 3D survey in 2007. Additional part blocks were awarded to Silverstone in the 23rd and 24th Licensing Rounds. Industry focus on the Quad 9 heavy oil trend is increasing after a four year hiatus and we expect to see four other wells drilled offsetting our acreage before the end of 2008. Following their recent acquisition of Chevrons Bressay and Mariner Fields, we may also see the sanctioning of the 14 degree API Mariner discovery by StatoilHydro in the medium term, often cited as the largest undeveloped oil accumulation in the North Sea. StatoilHydro farmed in to Silverstone's interests in the area in late 2007, and a Tertiary oil test is scheduled before the end of 2008. | haydock

04/9/2008 16:07 | If the price dropped because of the drilling problems (seems to fit the information to hand), it tells me that the information on the well is leaky and that it will likely move ahead of the results being formally released. Norm | normannumpty
04/9/2008 14:09 | rdpounder, We might see a few "T" trades next week, i thought we might have seen more before the 6th as it stated new farm-in partner or Sagex can increase its share to a max. of 50% by 6th September......i just hope it doesn't attract the looney traders......lol | barrywhit
03/9/2008 18:06 | Err, no share price rise in expectation of drilling results!?! | rdpounder
30/8/2008 12:16 | spurberry, Read the Research note May 08 above....... | barrywhit
29/8/2008 21:12 | where does it say that this block is 50% chance of success and where does it say what it expects to hold? end of year share price guess if successful? | spurberry
29/8/2008 14:09 | It scares weak investors into selling, well that is their theory........never seems to work, only on a share heavily traded, which GPC isn't....... | barrywhit
29/8/2008 13:26 | But by dropping the share price don't the MMs run the risk of attracting more buys? Seems potentially counter-productive to me. | investordave
29/8/2008 10:59 | Morning All, Unless there is a delayed sell to show later, then it is probably the MM's looking for a few shares, as i have said before there aren't many shares in free float as you can see by the share price movement, almost all trades change the price there are only 5 Market Makers trading in GPC........ | barrywhit
29/8/2008 09:20 | MMs playing games?? Rather a big drop for that, but free stock must be in short supply here?? AB | andrewhbruce

27/8/2008 06:08 | we have our farmin agreement...or at least one of them Genesis Petroleum Corporation PLC 27 August 2008 Genesis Petroleum Corporation Plc ('Genesis' or the 'Company') Farm-In to Genesis Licence and Exploration Well Genesis announces today that Sagex Petroleum UK Ltd ("Sagex"), subject to BERR approval, will farm-in to the P1281 Licence relating to UKCS Block 9/5b. Genesis will currently retain an 80% interest in the License with Sagex taking 20%. Genesis will remain Operator. The Sedco 704 semi submersible drilling rig has commenced operations on the Block 9/5b exploration well and under the terms of the farm-in agreement, Sagex will fund their ongoing 20% interest in the block, carry a percentage of Genesis' costs in the well and pay certain historical costs. Several other companies have expressed an interest in the Block and it is possible that other farm-in agreements may be reached before conclusion of the drilling operation. If no other farm-in agreements are reached by 6th September, Sagex has an option to increase its interest to a maximum of 50%. 27th August 2008 Enquiries: | kiwi10
26/8/2008 13:39 | andrewbruce, My thoughts entirely, all bodes well.........imo | barrywhit
26/8/2008 13:31 | Intrigued by the RNS..... "they are evaluating offers to farm-in to the license and one or more of these could be finalised before completion of the drilling operations" subject to government approval. How can you make/accept an offer before the drilling is complete, unless you have a pretty good idea of what's down the hole??!! ab | andrewhbruce
