21/2/2012 18:29 | The economic WONDER that is GERMANY "Pure Theatre" in my opinion - The unemployment figures - As with actors ..."The OTHER 2 MILLION (or so)"... are - not unemployed - they too are.....erm..."RESTI Headline - unemployment-3,081,7 -dropped to a two-decade low in January The "Resting Actors" comprise :- - Participants in "select measures of active labor market policies," such as obtaining qualifications and professional training: 1,075,004. - Participants in "activation" and "job integration" programs: 127,742 - Those in "preretirement-like ruling (special status)": 106,973 - Participants in government-paid job training: 154,648 - People who are called in inimitable German, "1-Euro-Jobbers." They perform tasks that are deigned communally useful, such asclearing snow from city streets in Leipzig: 133,298. - Participants in language courses, integration courses, and other programs that are funded by agencies other than the Federal Labor Agency: 72,513 - Participants in citizens jobs programs: 21,823 - People who are difficult to find jobs for: 9,533 - Unemployed who are temporarily sick: 68,202 etc etc Alas, in January, 5,394,064 people actually received unemployment compensation But it gets...... even worse - People 58 and older - are excluded from the official unemployment numbers, - even if they're desperately looking for a job. - They don't receive unemployment compensation but, conveniently, - pre-retirement compensation. So they don't count for the simple reason that they're too old to count. That's the German baby-boom generation. They're turning 58 in massive numbers and fall unceremoniously off the unemployment lists. Worse than that ? - Oh Yes ! And what about those who aren't eligible for unemployment compensation? - While they receive "social aid" and other forms of support, .....they don't count as unemployed either. | yikyak
07/9/2011 21:21 | Having read the research report and doing some further DD on Metanor, I am impressed with the fact there seems to be essentially zero political risk, zero need for more capital ( it looks like they have ~$15M in the bank now), zero production risk (2009 2010 produced ~ 40,000 oz with 95% recovery), zones at underground Bachelor mine that should give 10 year mine life (at 60,000 ounces gold a year), no exploration risk with huge blue sky at their Barry property which contains dozens of anomalies, a current 43-101 of aprx 789,000 oz gold inferred and indicated. SGS Geostat says Barry has the potential of gold deposits similar to Osisko's Malartic and Detour Gold's Detour deposit (Multi million oz deposits!!!). The mill and infrastructure alone today would cost considerably more than the current market cap of $80M (in fact roughly .90 per share seems right !!! ) 60,000 oz production / year will generate over $40M a year !!! ~ .40 seems like a gift !!! | yikyak
31/8/2011 10:56 | No probs erik, i'm a longer term investor but it's entry points i'm always after and this guy seems pretty knowledgeable if you actively trading. Truth is I rely on gut feeling as I always have done, especially in silver because of it's manipulation. | yikyak
