genedrive signs distribution agreement with Sysmex Asia Pacific Pte Ltd for HCV

Agreement extends global commercial coverage

genedrive plc (AIM: GDR), the near patient molecular diagnostics company, today announces that it has signed a distribution agreement with Sysmex Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Sysmex Corporation, for its CE-marked Genedrive(R) HCV ID Kit and Genedrive(R) platform in the Asia Pacific region. This is the second agreement signed with a subsidiary of Sysmex Corporation, a world leader in clinical laboratory systemization and solutions, and follows the announcement on 16(th) October 2017 of a distribution agreement for the EMEA region with Sysmex Europe GmbH.

The agreement with Sysmex Asia Pacific follows the same structure as the agreement with Sysmex Europe, with genedrive retaining responsibility for product development, quality management and manufacturing, and Sysmex Asia Pacific being responsible for sales, marketing, customer support and distribution activities across the region. Working together, the companies will focus on securing the required regulatory approvals in individual territories across Asia. genedrive anticipates some initial traction during the 2017/2018 financial year, with a further ramp up in 2018/19 when regulatory milestones are met. genedrive has retained the rights over the Indian market.

Genedrive(R) HCV ID Kit is a qualitative HCV RNA assay, designed for use in a decentralised testing environment to deliver actionable results within 90 minutes. It is performed on the Company's portable molecular diagnostics platform, Genedrive(R).
