LoL!

Obviously not many shares about.
One small mm buy of 10k shares, costing £1450,has added over £165,000 to the value of the company.

The legendary corporate raider,Mr Peter Gyllenhammar, bought just over 29% of Gaskell recently.

Why ?

The company has just had a major restructuring, bank debt elimated, and is now worth about £3mln.The chairman,in the last set of results, gave the following statement :

Prospects

The early indications in 2004 are that the Group reorganisation isproceeding
according to plan. A number of narrow looms are already operational in Poland
and sources of supply for tufted and fibre bonded products have been fully
secured. Further investments in high speed Axminster loom technology are due to
comeon stream shortly and the whole reorganisation process is due to be
completed by the third quarter.

Finance to accomplish the restructuring has been secured from our bankers and
the Board is confident that the substantial savings anticipated at the outset
will be delivered.

Trading in the early part of the year has started in line with expectations and
the improved product ranges that will come on stream during the first half of
2004 should underpin this performance.

These significant changes cannot be implemented successfully without the
commitment of all our employees. Although 2003 proved to be a difficult year,
the enthusiasm with which the new plans have been accepted and are now being
implemented gives further encouragement for the future.

I thank all employees for their contribution and I hope that their continued
efforts will see us safely through both the implementation of the current
reorganisation and the development of a more robust business for the future.

With a newly focused company, with annual sales of around £20 mln,net assets of over £8mln,and hopefully the worst behind it,I can see why PG has bought in.

I have bought some for the long term today.

A site worth checking:-

Its american but it pays uk users. I've had 2 cheque's from them in the last 2 months totalling $70 not bad for just opening my mails. You open junk mail everyday and get nothing. Get something back for a change!

Its not a con, try it.

The price of the trade is now quoted at 13.5. See also today's news re purchase by Peter Gyllenhammar. He must be pleased with this purchase. I'd buy some at that price - 21P with a 3P spread is not quite so attractive.

i agree, in addition to having the cash, the remaining bussines has a rather big turnover and after the restructuring, a 1-3 mln profit could be easily achieved within a year or two

hi biomax, i agree when Gaskell receives payment for the deal and pays off their debts there should be about £10000000 .Shares in issue are 24522079 therefore cash in hand would be about 40p per share as opposed to todays price of 17p.
