They quote the Peel Hunt broker note and point out the asset light software makes it good at generating cash as the numbers rise and PH predicts 88.5P eps for 2025 would give P/E of 16 , low for a software company. Their last opinion on GAMA was a BUY in Sep23 and they were right as it was 1083p then. |

An investor can do all of the right things, such as buying high-quality companies that go on to deliver strong financial performance, but still fail to generate large profits on their holdings for sustained periods. This situation is likely to resonate with investors in British shares, and especially those who own stakes in smaller companies, which have become extremely unpopular since the FTSE Aim All-Share index soared to a 20-year high in September 2021.The index has subsequently fallen by around 43pc. Judging by the downbeat outlook currently adopted by most investors, a return to the heady days of plentiful capital growth seems highly unlikely in the short run.Aim All-share performanceFrom 11 Feb '19 to 8 Feb 13:16:57202020212022 |
Posted at 06/12/2023 17:55 by essentialinvestor Can anyone provide an industry inside view on GAMA?. |
Posted at 20/10/2023 13:43 by salpara111 I fully accept your argument, you can only work with the most recent update and their forward looking view. I don't expect to see GAMA at £15 in the near future I will be happy if I get another opportunity to exit around £12. |
Posted at 22/9/2023 08:39 by senseibull @Salpara - my opinion is that this share is moving into a dividend type from growth, so will be now stuck in a range for the longer term |
Posted at 07/9/2023 10:04 by brucie5 Thanks Thorpematt, good forensic analysis. Stocko's algorithms appear to picked up its Quality attractions - at 99 - with no fewer than six screens passed.Maybe they should be considering a special dividend to reward shareholders and alert others to the opportunity of buying their story at these levels? For me, interested mainly, though not exclusively in dividends the story is mainly on the chart and break over 12 - though equally, someone did well to buy at 10 and hold. What else do you see with similar potential? |
Posted at 06/9/2023 20:52 by thorpematt Brucie,I used to subscribe to IC....but not anymore. Their summary for GAMA on the "free to access page" when I searched it looks about right (1.45% yeild). What I see as more significant (when you see how low that is) is that this is despite them hiking it to the tune of a 5yr CAGR of over 12%. When you drill down further you can see that it is covered more than 5x That 12% divi growth is however dwarfed by the growth figures for book value, normalised earnings, revenues and profits, all of which have seeen CAGRs of around twice that of the divi growth. Historic performance is of course NOT necessarily to be matched by future performance, but those numbers indicate significant room for error. ...which brings us nicely back to the IC - who (intermittently at least) is not immune to the odd significant error of its own (it would seem). |
Posted at 06/9/2023 14:51 by brucie5 IC gives it a 5% dividend yield, is that right? |
Posted at 05/9/2023 16:32 by thorpematt EILooking at my notes on GAMA, one of the first notes I made was: "... The only issues are it s not a circle of competence for me and that the divi payout is poor." So I definitely cannot help you by way of a strong knowledge in their end markets BUT I am pretty confident that this is a high quality company, on the metrics I see as important...despite the lowly divi. I liked the TS - looks all in order and contrasts the chart which looks like it priced in that it wasn't. I have bought some more today as a consequence (I had what I regard as a half position previously bought at similar price.) |
