A wee bit of profit taking by Aberforth. They went from 5% to 10% at the end of July, so a good call by them. Ruffer in the US also made a good call around then, acquiring 10%. Legal & General looks to be the dummy.

there will be more sellers due sudden rise: fund managers can't resist locking in a profit and for a number is probability become a too large holding relative to rest of their portfolios. I'd expect some weakness here until the next dividend/update. I've been here since 2005 and just the dividends have more than paid back my initial investment. In fact it pays for two sets of school every year!

The low volumes indicate there is not much profit-taking going on despite the very strong rise. The weaker insti holders left early.

The upgraded dividend forecasts:

2017: 55p
2018: 50p

It'll be interesting how 2017/18 pans out and whether we can get 2 consecutive years of earnings growth .. that's not happened since the LOTR days .. there are lots of new initiatives with a fair bit marketing especially around social media .. a dirty word under Kirby but current CEO prepared to try more things .. there's still plenty of scope to exploit the IP .. and critically the US is growing .. W

Peels have upgraded from 800p to 10 quid .

Note : 2017 EPS increased from 58p to 67.7p ( £24 to £28million )

and 2018 EPS 53.1 to 62.9p (£22million to £26million)

Games Workshop is pleased to announce a significant increase in sales and profits for the period from 28 November 2016 to 15 January 2017, compared to the same period last year. In light of the above, and having now finalised the product phasing for the year, profits for 2016/17 are likely to be above market expectations.Sales and profits have further benefitted from the continuing favourable impact of the weaker pound. However, the Board remains aware that there is some uncertainty in the trading periods ahead for the rest of the 2016/17 financial year.Games Workshop Group PLC also announces that the Board has today declared a dividend of 30 pence per share. This will be paid on 3 March 2017 for shareholders on the register at 27 January 2017, with an ex-dividend date of 26 January 2017. The last date for elections for the dividend re-investment plan is 10 February 2017.

As long as you hold before the ex dividend date you're good. The share price will drop by the divi amount on the day, this is to stop people just buying in for the divi.

Jonny - yes if you are holding on the 26th/27th you'll get the dividend, even if you then sell before it's paid out.

Question if I may, I bought these yesterday £8.03 so am feeling lucky with the update and rise today.

With regard the Divi will I be entitled so long as I'm still holding after the 26th?

Yes, very good news today. A 30p divi is very nice to have. :-)

I have penciled in EPS for the full-year of 70p but i beginning to think that this could prove to be conservative, so agree with above sentiments.

Last 6 years has seen 54% of revenues in H2, but the last 2 years they have achieved 63% in H2. Before the interims were released I estimated EPS for the full year between 70p to 84p range, since interims were better than I estimated I think my figures could actually prove conservative.

Best for the brokers to remain behind the curve as usual, then maybe GAW will report another ahead update before July.

60 % of their earnings are made H2 .
They are surely going to smash brokers expectations of 58p eps( from Peels , the house broker, who said were cautious given xmas ahead and royalty income).
