29/7/2014 11:16 | Don't you just love the company reportingTom Kirby, chairman and acting CEO of Games Workshop said:"Games Workshop has had a really good year.If your measure of 'good' is the current financial year's numbers, you may not agree. But if your measure is the long-term survivability of a great cash generating business that still has a lot of potential growth, then you will agree." | nod
10/7/2014 12:21 | Seems to have hit the 200dma and slipped back, and now below 50dma too. Still anybody's guess where next. | 2magpies
13/6/2014 19:17 | The XD adjustment has quickly reversed. The second largest trading day in 3 months and quite strongly upwards. | nod
11/6/2014 21:28 | Games Workshop went ex-dividend today. | robinnicolson
11/6/2014 21:07 | It looks like a bit of profit taking here. Not many trades though. Anyone buying right has made up to 30% profit in a few months. Can't argue with them takings some winnings off the table. | nod
11/6/2014 12:10 | Woozle, yes he knows the business well but so do others. GAW has never been more successful than during the five years when Mark Wells ran the company as CEO. Tom was Chairman which is where he can input his strategic thinking and leave it to others to implement. It seems to be his implementations that are poor.Tom moved to the USA to focus on developing the business over there. He appeared to have encumbered GAW with a lot of expensive US stores and this past year has been spent getting rid of the expensive stores, as we discussed on here recently. Again, right idea with USA but poor implementation. | nod
10/6/2014 16:44 | Probably that the new 40k rules are out... | mozy123
10/6/2014 16:38 | Games Workshop Shop: Window update Passed by the above shop after a long time, and am happy to report that....... the window has been cleaned! No wonder the share price is rising ! ;-) | 2magpies
10/6/2014 16:34 | I'm a fan of Tom. He cares deeply about making a world class hobby in the knowledge that if he does this the share price takes care of itself. If they can get going in the US, and that's a big if, then this should do very well. The next results should be interesting. My own view is that they'll do nearer £20m of PBT than the £17m pencilled in by Peel Hunt. Also lots of dividends coming down the line. | woozle1
09/6/2014 22:14 | A decisive break above 600pIt needs to stay above 600 for a week for confidence to build. There does not appear to be many shares available and minimal demand has pushed up the price quite sharply. | nod
06/6/2014 11:01 | Yes, it's frustrating for investors who are more likely to be critical analysts than gamers. I suppose that's what it boils down to - Kirby talks to investors as if he was talking to a customer in a shop. He doesn't appear to recognise there is a big difference. | nod
06/6/2014 10:20 | Yes, as a friend and I were saying recently, Tom is the company's greatest asset (operations wise) but also at times can be its greatest liability (PR wise)! | superstardj
06/6/2014 09:41 | Yes, agree Super. Over the years GAW has distributed excess cash in a random ways. Thee is no pressure on them to maintain a 3% dividend or anything like this to keep major shareholders, as many large companies try to do to protect their share price.I read this as very positive for cash flow. Unfortunately for investors the current boss likes to create a lot of dungeons & dragons style mystery and quest around the company. | nod
06/6/2014 08:33 | One thing is for certain; things are not getting worse. It says much more about what is going on than that last trading update did! | superstardj
06/6/2014 08:04 | Yes indeed. Perhaps things are sorted? Its a good sign. | 2magpies
06/6/2014 07:44 | The dividend declaration was a nice surprise this morning. | robinnicolson
05/6/2014 09:38 | very interesting chart! could still go either way, perhaps with a sharp move. imo | 2magpies
04/6/2014 22:48 | Finals last year were released 30 July | nod
04/6/2014 22:46 | Minimal trading but share price consolidating around the 600p mark. 600 has been a key resistance and support level during the past 3 years. 2.5 years ago it was a resistance level for about 6 months. Then around 1.5 years ago it provided a support level during a bear patch.Let's see if any news comes along to break out above 600. We don't get much news from GAW so it may be a long wait. | nod
30/5/2014 03:08 | Quite a decent recovery over the past 3 months. Volumes are not high. This suggests holders are staying put and the modest buying is gradually pushing the share price up. | nod
15/5/2014 21:46 | what if i throw a d10? | mozy123
15/5/2014 18:00 | Keep rising ? Or another leg down? Throw that dice....... | 2magpies
03/5/2014 16:21 | slightly addicted to warhammer quest at the mo - fantastic game, might even purchase some of the in game content | mozy123
03/5/2014 05:17 | Above link is to GAW's Careers page. Currently 44 vacancies in 8 different countries. 18 in USA. This doesn't look like a company that is in decline. On the contrary. | nod |
