I must admit I didn't realise Game had relisted last year having lost some money when they originally went bust. Can help but think it is all a bit of a con. The creditors forced Game to go into administration, wiping out the shareholders even though the company "was" profitable on a yearly basis- they forced it into administration rather than fund it through the lean months.

So, the banks took charge, held it for a year or so, relisted it to clearly get their money back, and 7 months later the equity holders are again feeling the pain.

Luckily, my broker managed to get me out in the auction period before 8am, so not too bad for me, but not good either! I'm glad my shareholding was small. I was considering buying loads more last week, but as per my earlier post about finding games cheaper elsewhere, I held off.

This company is finished. If it can't do well during Christmas, then it won't be able to do well at any other time either.

For comparison, Gamestop, a US version of Game Digital, also released its figures yesterday and it do do well and its share price was up 10%.

This will spook investors and this will become a shorters dream with a possible 50% retrace it only came out of liquidation in 2012 and now history is repeating itself - Black Friday has clearly destroyed a lot of companies christmas trading.

I have always thought this company coming back from the dead was strange as it is not equipped for today's games market eg it's all online and about price eg HMV, Woolworths etc

Hats of to the equity house who managed to float this and get the hell out - it will be shorted by the masses now.

My prediction 50% retrace by end of January look what happened to Boohoo and they reported a 25% increase in sales ?????

....that was the Christmas trading update released early.... Sneaky, aren't they?

It seems Black Friday was pretty black for Game! Giving away games with consoles doesn't help. But my own opinion on this is that you could purchase, like I did, games for Christmas presents at lower prices elsewhere. If Game can't compete on price and that is their only product, they will go the way of the old Game company. Shame, because I like their stores, but I never bought in them.

I'm out of this first thing in the morning before they head to £2 and lower.

Game are releasing their Christmas trading update on the 15th Jan, the same day as their AGM.

Local Game stores in my area were busy in the run up to Christmas, so I hope that's replicated across the whole group.
