This has gone a little bit errr, well, mad I would say.

Wasnt cheap even with forecasts at 100p so at 300p it has entered outer space...

But still, good luck to all holders.

Elite Dangerous Alpha 3.0 released and share price up over 10% today. So much for a dip :).

I'm sure this place will pick up soon, Hastings :).

I like the look of their Cobra tech as well - anything that helps to make development more effective, streamlined and cheaper across platforms has got to be good.
Third party licensing of Cobra could potentially be a massive money spinner too - just look at Unreal Engine or I.D Tech. Maybe not quite the same product but it could go along the lines of a flat fee or a percentage of sales of the licensed product or something like that. I'm just guessing and filling up space but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

I'm happily holding these and IF the price does dip a bit I may get a few more.Might have to give the old piggy bank a good rattle though :).

Nice to have some company here Doog.
Must say I agree with you also having respect for the guy and he comes across really passionate and happy to oblige with questions etc.
If anything, I find gets really quite into it and very animated.
Good thing is, he doesn't waffle(unlike me perhaps).
In some ways, you can say the shares are well up there at the moment, but with elite being something of an unknown, with potentially some massive upside, I am happy to hold.

Very nice to see some movement upwards. I have kept holding off thinking it was going to drop back but it keeps creeping up :). Decided to buy a few this morning and see what happens. Got great respect for David Braben and what he has achieved. As for Elite Dangerous, well, probably one of the most anticipated games ever to be in production. They are even charging up to £200 just to get in on the beta! amazing.I for one cannot wait for it to be released - I only ever made it to 'deadly' on Elite all those years ago.The publicity in various tech and gaming mags/sites already is immense.

Some comment from yesterday that may interest other holders.
Pondering over the potential, if elite dangerous becomes anywhere near as successful other games mentioned.

Hi all, thought id take a peek. Friends who are playing/testing the elite alpha version are very impressed and they told me a few things that have encouraged me to look further.

1) The original BBC version was on every console sold, thats 1 software licence per console. A 1:1 ratio. Not even microsoft have that.
2) Frontier are a self sufficient company generating revenue by porting games from different client platforms. Excellent customer base and excellent reputation.
3) Their porting software is sophisticated enough to take into account known platform changes for the next 10 years.
3) Revenue raised to successfully develop elite at £4 million if im right (or is it +£2 mil also for the pre issue rights?). But £6 million is sod all in comparison to potential earnings.
4) Debt = 0.
5) Lastly, the player experience that will make the game a big earner or not; in a nutshell, the testing is going fantastically, gamers are impressed and hungry for more. The current module being tested has ran nearly 100% smoothly for most testers and bodes well as each module to be tested is integrated into the whole for general release.

Im all in with Quadrise and Iofina at the moment. But this share is definitely on my watch list. I shall be kept up to date with developments from friends and buy in at a judicious time as there are various test releases to go yet, which will keep this potential gem under the radar for now. Good luck all.

Apparently the original elite game sold circa 600k copies which makes one wonder what dangerous could achieve once it is launched and beyond. Even if it is just reasonably successful revenues could be quite impressive.
