That $16 target is definitely back in the crosshairs eh, abc?

Surely it is the delayed dollar/yen fall seeping through rather than anything concerning the 'expedited' meeting and then Yellen's follow-up chat with Obama? I would doubt that would hold the rise if it was just speculation like that...

Barrick racing again in New York, plus 5%, some 15% in the last three trading sessions...

Someone is being mean spirited about Fres by comparison still it seems which makes me think the ten pound glass ceiling is still a problem here...

Break that and £10.40 should go soon thereafter IMHO,

It would be welcome Jamesiebaby as I have a feeling that here, Fresnillo, in particular, it needs to breach new highs to push on to the 1040p resistance during the summer.

That means gaining 50p more this week, which based on ABX in New York should have happened today. But I'll wait for tomorrow if I must ;)

Certainly appreciated your input, links, graphs as it has aided my understanding of the PM arena. Still trust the basic hold and accumulate 'gold-related' investments during times of volatility such as we are presently experiencing. Earnings quarter now upon us should only exacerbate that situation IMHO....

Not much mention of Fresnillo aside from a comment about not just looking at US-based gold and silver stocks.

In reality, those US-based stocks have moved about 4% north on both of the last two trading days while items like Fres and RRS have stalled in comparison at a miserly 1% gain...

With silver still climbing it might require another one of shock and awe from Madame Yellen to reignite the interest in gold and silver much more into this week for the yen strength seems to be having little impact overall.

Any more news from the expedited meeting maybe?

Leg is getting re-rated and the fundamentals are rock solid . Transformational news is due this month so read through the rns and make your own mind up because it will multi bag imho

Watch this CEO interview from 3 weeks ago :-

Also if you look at the daily , weekly and monthly candlestick charts you will see that month on month it's only going one way and one way only . It's also in a golden cross 100dma above 200dma .

This week has been interesting in precious metals. A lot of big cap names I follow (rrs,sa,nem,abx..etc) are approaching or have exceeded recent highs yet gold is at only $1240. Gold needs to catch up quick to convince me that this is a new bull market or otherwise this is just a false upside breakout by the miners.

If gold does resume its downtrend we're going sub $1000 most likely. I still have my $875 target unless gold spends a week or two above $1300. Even then I'll still be sceptical - the big cap miners did not have the washout they deserved (unlike the small caps).

Top - I'm not bothered about PSLV except to say that they have just stated they are now in the process of buying 150T of physical.

Maybe. Had that discussion on Kefi Minerals and I feel it can be a false valuation in the eyes of many.

RBS are now worth 220 when we know they are really worth 20p but for the consolidation. The original pre-2009 crash holders at £5.50 aren't fooled one bit...they should be worth £55!

As for Sprott, it has not impressed the market for their shares are down over 3%...

Fres is lagging badly compared to Rrs, why is that?

On a side note I'm surprised more punters are not following Rrs. The only reason I can think of is the psychological barrier of buying a share that is high in terms of pounds sterling (£66.30 currently).

Maybe if they did a 10 for 1 spilt more private punters would get interested. In reality though it don't make a jot of difference. You still stand to make the same in percentage terms.

Top - it will come especially when someone is buying 150T of silver as we speak; physical.

For instance, Barrick rose four percent yesterday and has already hit that climb today. The issue must be Fres is still consider principally a silver play, which it still is in pure tonnage but not by so much as it used to be.

Maybe Monday's special FOMC expedited chat will have us playing catch up?

Bon weekend a tous.

All to no avail here though Jamesiebaby - at least not where it matters, in a stronger share price

The reality seems to be someone, somewhere, is not going to let gold and silver push even close to new highs. They can't hold it back forever? Certainly the NYSE gold shares have responded better than the LSE ones...

A weakening impact on the silver price Jarbie. The correlation is still just there but not to the extent it was a few weeks back when we closed in on $16 an ounze AG as the yen strengthened.

The same effect has not materialised this week, but some think it is little boy with finger in dam moment...

Certainly the price of Fres is creeping up...

Suggestions of a special dividend as two years ago are being discussed to reinvigorate the share price.

The word is the present paltry dividend is holding back big funds from taking a position here given the volatility in the PM markets so such an announcement that it is under consideration again would be welcome.

It is beginning to look like macro issues alone are not enough to break out from the £9-10 range...even the yen strength is having little impact on silver prices really.
