25/10/2016 08:04 | Never smoke without fire, investors might be interested but might not have shown an interest yet. We might see a little selling due to the rns today, but I am hoping a move down will only be to the 32p region. dyor regards active | srpactive
24/10/2016 11:16 | The key point i take from these reports is that the company is clearly undervalued and, as this article states, it is receiving offers from others. | smicker
24/10/2016 10:52 | You are correct in thinking all publicity is good publicity, but I do not think that is the situation here, a move similar to this happened at another of mine bpty last year. Performing pathetically then Springowl came in, shook it up, bpty then got bought by another of mine gvc for equivalent of 422p per share then boom now worth 700p. For what it is worth I think fccn will be bought by another at 90p. dyor regards active | srpactive
24/10/2016 10:15 | You have to wonder whether one of the reasons Gatemore homed in on FCCN is that was guaranteed a shedload of free publicity. | zoolook
24/10/2016 10:02 | There will be a few I would imagine, trying to buy GB assets whilst the pound is weak and the sector weak further due to Brexit. dyor regards active | srpactive
24/10/2016 08:35 | Wonder if Ted Baker will make a move? | she-ra
24/10/2016 08:30 | Good morning Nice to see there is a little of a shake up at board level, I would be looking for a challenge of 43p today then 60p later this week. An approach in time could be around 75 - 90p. Not convinced of this 150p myself, but if so all the better. Another retailer due the same shake up is aly Laura Ashley, I hold there too. dyor regards active | srpactive
22/10/2016 22:20 | "Gatemore has said that should the business be able to break event and achieve margins in the region of “sector norms” a share price of 150p per share should be achievable. Last week its shares closed at 32.9p, valuing the business at around £32m, and sources quoted by The Sunday Telegraph have said that the business is currently undervalued and Marks would only be interested in a deal at three times that amount." | smicker
12/10/2016 11:13 | Morning all I received the report yesterday which I thought came across better than expected, and with the range going well with DFS, I have decided to increase here this morning. dyor regards active | srpactive
06/10/2016 08:28 | Could there be some value left in the brand? From DFS today Our ranges of Exclusive Brands have performed well ahead of expectations, with a 35% increase in total sales orders over the year as a whole. Highlights included the introduction of a number of new models under the House Beautiful brand, and the continued outstanding success of the French Connection Zinc range. Our close supplier relationships and vertical integration insights have enabled us to introduce a seven-day express delivery option across the Zinc sofa range. We extended our partnership agreements with French Connection, House Beautiful and Country Living during the year, and are also achieving encouraging results from the sale of sofas from our own Sofa Workshop Dillon and Ellie ranges through DFS stores. | smicker
23/9/2016 15:03 | Surely if he was trying to take it private on the cheap he would have done when the share price was in the 20's and the cash balance was double. The cash dwindling is going to concentrate the mind I imagine. | cockerhoop
23/9/2016 14:35 | Why else? Because he never shared his toys when he was a child | zoolook
23/9/2016 14:06 | "Wondering if something sinister is going on here." you mean like trying to take it private on the cheap maybe??? | dvb99
22/9/2016 14:52 | I get the feeling Marks doesn't want the share to go up instead I think he wants it to go down. Why else would he have not separated the roles of Chairman and CE?. Wondering if something sinister is going on here. | she-ra
22/9/2016 13:21 | They cant rest on their asse(t)s forever | zoolook
22/9/2016 09:44 | If your looking for value sell up here and move on to Harvey Nash. Good results due next week :) FCCN is doomed. they will be wiped from the high street with nothing paid for goodwill. If they have any cash left or assets the bidder will probably pay 50% for them. Move on to a better investment | keevo
22/9/2016 00:26 | He could buy this out of the loose change. Why would he buy 8.3% and not buy the rest? | smicker
20/9/2016 16:43 | I take back my remark about the statement being positive-ish. Having looked at previous results statements I would have to agree that this one follows a similar pattern of the chairman stating that good progress is being made... but they still managed to lose half their net cash position Keevo - If you remove/change the brand, then what is there? A retail/wholesale/int Break even for H2 and a similar H1 next year and there will be no cash left. I'm struggling to understand the NED purchases, too | frazboy
20/9/2016 16:41 | Keevo - Change the brand? F Off! (and that's not a new name suggestion) | she-ra
20/9/2016 16:32 | French Connection :Pump and dump before the results, trash and cash after the results. Rinse, repeat. Oh what life would be like to scribble in the city. | she-ra
20/9/2016 16:15 | multiplural I would be writing down the goodwill of 14m. the brand is damaged. if someone can take the company and turn it around they may need to change the brand. seems a bit too risky at the moment. let it drop and buy in at a later stage. then hope for a buy out at 50p plus. | keevo
20/9/2016 15:36 | After many years I'm out, just can't wait for a bid that may not come.............. | chrisgail |
