14/1/2010 11:04 | No FS, I am extremely long, the buying is too be expected after that interview. You seems to be new to FMJ, its better it be in now at these levels than with the shower of management from previous years. Good to see the buying but what I posted above is very very relevant to Chapman and Co. Were these inter-party related transactions, has anyone at FMJ benefited from the losses from FMJ aborted takeover. Long may the rise continue 4p would be nice. | goggin
14/1/2010 10:03 | Formjet share price appears to be gaining support off the 20 day moving average and is forming a new up trend on the chart. The RSI and Fast Sarcastic are both giving BUY signal. IMHO The MACD is also moving positive. DYOR: | flyingswan
14/1/2010 09:45 | Hi Goggin are you short on this? There is lots of BUYing in the market this morning so perhaps you are on the wrong side? There is no mention of what you are taking about in the December update article? Unless it is the Acquisition Mentioned, but that was not to take place until about Now? Formject planning to make 'strategic acquisitions' 23 December 2009 @ 09:44 am Formjet is planning to grow the business by making strategic acquisitions in 2010 and taking advantage of opportunities from the economic and financial crisis The firm said 2009 had been a transitional year with the sale of Panda Software (UK) and Andrew Monk joining as chief executive and taking a major equity stake in the business. But Formjet said that before embarking on an acquisition strategy it was important to "have one's own house in order" and, as previously reported, some costs had been taken out of the business. It added: "In addition, we will also be providing for the potential write off of our loan of 397,418 to ASI Benelux as the board of Formjet does not believe it is in the interests of shareholders to fund this business further due to difficulties in the Dutch retail IT markets. "Formjet has no equity or ownership of this business." It added: "The board will also be taking a very prudent approach to all accounting policies, which may necessitate further write offs and provisions for the year ending 31 December 2009. "We are able to take this approach, as our balance sheet remains strong." Story provided by Business Financial Newswire | flyingswan
13/1/2010 19:29 | Here are some Ideas Formjet FMJ may like to take up for going to the next step: Pranav Mistry: The thrilling potential of Sixth Sense technology At TED India, Pranav Mistry demos several tools that help the physical world interact with the world of data -- including a deep look at his SixthSense device and a new, paradigm-shifting paper "laptop." In an onstage Q&A, Mistry says he'll open-source the software behind SixthSense, to open its possibilities to all. | flyingswan
13/1/2010 15:17 | I like the guy. I would have liked a bit of digging (no pun intended)about the past to see if he whitewashed it but still. Let's look up not down. | refusenish
13/1/2010 14:30 | Can't believe it could get much worse in terms of past performance unless it follows MyHome down the tube. | argy2
13/1/2010 14:05 | Board Talk Sandra Spencer's guest is Andrew Monk of Formjet plc: If you have any problems viewing the Video go here: Check out the Trouble Shooting tips for the Answer. Great company with great potential. IMHO | flyingswan
24/12/2009 11:53 | They DID. Not from here on in I feel | refusenish
23/12/2009 15:51 | GBP397,418 to ASI Benelux as the Board of Formjet - that's almost 1/2 the Ability turnover from the previous year. £150,000 write off the year before for a failed Acquisition these guys are genius. These guys write off more than they sell. | nogoodluck
23/12/2009 14:32 | The Board will also be taking a very prudent approach to all accounting policies, which may necessitate further write offs and provisions for the year ending 31 December 2009 even more pain full weeding in the garden | refusenish
23/12/2009 14:31 | It is important before embarking upon such a strategy to have one's own house in order and to that extent, as reported before, some costs have been taken out of the business. In addition, we will also be providing for the potential write off of our loan of GBP397,418 to ASI Benelux as the Board of Formjet does not believe it is in the interests of shareholders to fund this business further Some painfull housekeeping to do beforehand | refusenish
23/12/2009 14:28 | In 2010 the intention is to grow the business by making strategic acquisitions and taking advantage of opportunities arising as a result of the current economic and financial crisis Monk didn't get involved without something in mind re: above. Would love to know who or what | refusenish
23/12/2009 12:44 | LOL! No I am not using it for tax planning. I have just accepted that my previous investment (which was made as an investment) has no value other than as a tax loss (and a small amount of disposal proceeds less than the value of the tax loss). Once you have accepted that the key question is when best to realise the loss. Having realised quite a few gains this year I needed to realise a loss. | scburbs
23/12/2009 12:41 | Tax planning for accountants. That must be the reason the company still exists - there arent many others ! Wonder if the IR will try to close this huge loophole :-) | fft
23/12/2009 10:19 | Blimey you are using the company as a tax planning initiative....differ | davidosh
23/12/2009 10:17 | What a terrible trading statement. Classic Formjet (new management have quickly picked up the FMJ approach)! There is actually no comment on how their products are selling just a flagging of the various provisions and write-offs of previous investments that will be required. It's going to be a large loss this year. Looks like a kitchen sink job from the new CEO. Share price seems to be taking it rather well! Its slightly higher than the level that I exited. I had been holding FMJ more as a capital loss planning tool than a real investment and it was useful to crystallise the losses this year. | scburbs
