12/9/2018 12:15 | 'It is against this growth momentum that the Company is raising additional funds to ensure that the Company has adequate capital to finance further sales, sales support, sales implementation and product development support where necessary. Management is committed to ensuring that the Company’s growth continues, and is optimised, whilst also targeting profitability in 2018' D Main - Chairman Not this last raise, Dec 2016... GL | paulcon1
12/9/2018 12:14 | "So presumably a customer has to ask in order to get it?" The logic being…? That's not a viable business model. All the evidence suggests that this product doesn't exist, except in press releases. Now that we've launched the MacOs Edge, shall we put in on the website, boss? No. Shall we send some review copies out to the media then? No. Is it actually ready for prime time? No. Was Captevate ever ready for prime time? No. | pr100
12/9/2018 12:11 | ‘targeting profitability in 2018’ Missed that can you copy and post? | nickb
12/9/2018 11:45 | We would start to see significant Microsoft income in 2017. Oh really? We have only just doubled USA revenues to £92k. | bonio10000
12/9/2018 11:42 | And targeting profitability in 2018.. These are misleading to potential investors ... | paulcon1
12/9/2018 11:31 | On the 5th April 2018 there was an RNS which included: "Blackbird Mac Edge The Blackbird Edge software solution is now available to run on the Mac currently for file-based workflows, giving production unprecedented versatility to run Edge technology anywhere there is a data network including remote locations with as little as a 4G connection. Edge technology is the first point of entry for all content to be transcoded to the Blackbird codec and uploaded to the Blackbird Cloud. The Mac Edge supports Apple's simplified user experience with easy setup and connections to existing Blackbird Accounts as well as Mac extensions to create watch folders and direct file ingests from the Finder. An Expert GUI mode gives advanced workflow management over the ingest, transcode and upload process including highly scriptable control over folder creation, metadata injection and ingest priorities. A jobs window and the Mac OS notification centre is alway available to show progress and status. The Mac Edge also conforms and renders against your high-bitrate content for delivery to multiple platforms. Blackbird's Mac Edge software runs on Mac Pro, iMac, Mac mini and MacBook Pros and is available now." So presumably a customer has to ask in order to get it? | chriscallen
12/9/2018 11:20 | Like mentions of global e-commerce companies in fundraisings? | bonio10000
12/9/2018 11:18 | If it's just being tested, that's pre-launch. So it hasn't been "launched" then. You have to be careful what you write in an RNS. | pr100
12/9/2018 10:45 | I think he means it has been tested out on customers rather than a full blooded launch to the world in general so it should be up front at the IBC. He wrote: "As part of our strategy to significantly increase our addressable audience and use cases, we have developed and launched a Mac version of the Blackbird Edge, which enables users to ingest content through a wide variety of devices ranging from a laptop to the latest iMac Pro. macOS Edge has already been used by multiple clients in testing and remote environments where bandwidth and connectivity is limited." | chriscallen
12/9/2018 10:19 | If MacOs Edge has been launched, why can't it be found on the company's website? And why doesn't Amazon Marketplace know about it? (Still showing zero reviews for Edge, btw.) And why has no user/reviewer written about it? Phantom of the Soap Opera? | pr100
12/9/2018 10:18 | Bonio I agree, I understand management cherry picking information for personal/company benefit but the actual financial figures do not seem to match statements made. Thankfully there are some loyal shareholders keeping the share price stable. These Financial 'Lowlights' are very poor after 18 years. FBT, financially, are moving backwards. Mr Streater, as always, delivers the goods though with the technical aspects of FBT, Well played Sir! GL and IMHO | paulcon1
12/9/2018 09:57 | Yes, you're right in saying 2016 was better than 2017 so the company is clawing its way back to those dizzy heights. What these figures show is that they have expenses under control (and these results must include some of the staff severance costs)and they increased nowhere near the rate of sales/deferred income. More importantly they do at long last seem to be getting their ducks in a row and to be concentrating on their keys targets rather than coming up with a new idea every 6 weeks only to abandon it when they think nobody is looking. IM has a Plan, he is sticking to it and it does for the first time really look like he could achieve what we all want. Let's wait and see what unfolds at the IBC. | chriscallen
12/9/2018 09:48 | Technical product enhancements: 'As part of our strategy to significantly increase our addressable audience and use cases, we have developed and launched a Mac version of the Blackbird Edge, which enables users to ingest content through a wide variety of devices ranging from a laptop to the latest iMac Pro. macOS Edge has already been used by multiple clients in testing and remote environments where bandwidth and connectivity is limited. In order to future proof Blackbird and simplify onboarding, Forbidden will launch at the IBC trade show a java script version of its Blackbird editing products, Forte and Ascent. These are designed to run in any modern computer and browser combination without installation or configuration. To assist codec licensing, as well as publication and distribution using Blackbird, development of the Blackbird Player continues as we discuss its potential application with prospects. The growth of commercial cloud, and the size of the major players involved, has created an opportunity to integrate more closely with cloud providers. At IBC, we will be showcasing the Blackbird Azure workflow used by Deltatre as infrastructure on a major US sport. These four products mark a huge step forward technically. They dramatically increase our addressable audience and overall market opportunity as well as helping to future-proof the business. They position us well to add value in the fast-growing cloud market.” From | paulcon1
12/9/2018 09:42 | Invoiced sales of GBP355k (6 months to 30 June 2016: GBP445k) Last year's interims put some perspective on these results. The invoiced sales are barely above those in the 6 months to 30 June 2016. I'm not a fan of taking a nadir and then projecting growth from that point. In 2 years the company has gone nowhere. | bonio10000
12/9/2018 09:14 | No worries. | bonio10000
12/9/2018 09:06 | Bonio I was actually agreeing with you... Maybe worded wrong. GL | paulcon1
12/9/2018 09:05 | I thought the results were as encouraging as we could reasonably expect. Still hoping here. | gnnmartin
12/9/2018 08:59 | Well - I said I did. I expected them to be the same as H2 2018 and costs to offset revenues. I'm not fussed, nickb talks far more BS than anyone, but it isn't what I said either. | bonio10000
12/9/2018 08:48 | Bonio I will rephrase: I did not expect the results to show a Net loss before tax GBP1,274k ... I was incorrect GL | paulcon1
12/9/2018 08:43 | At least we know the fundraising was really to pay management salaries and not to underpin growth. | bonio10000
12/9/2018 08:36 | ChrisC 'Blackbird launch in Japan in a preliminary collaboration with a tier 1 telecommunications company' If I recall it was announced prior to NAB, you can find it on the website, it sounded like a POC in all honesty. A new geographical sector though! IMHO | paulcon1
12/9/2018 08:34 | Do believe this is another in the disruptive tech area. Soon everybody will want this!! | joeblogg2
12/9/2018 08:33 | Chris There is a lack of information on the Japan deal so difficult to assess I feel. | nickb |
