08/8/2018 11:24 | Looks like Huw Dymond’s presentation went down well. He’s already got 34 likes on his LinkedIn, from people all across the industry. | cabi1
08/8/2018 10:41 | I doubt they would get permission to film presentations at trade shows to put on the internet it’s usually tightly controlled. Huw came to us with a great CV from memory so I would be confident that he gave a great demo presentation. Neil and Jeff also top quality presentation skills IMHO. | nickb
08/8/2018 10:25 | Chris Totally agree with your sentiment.... Really perplexing FBT and media/industry engagement. The article last week spoke of FBT being close to announcing exciting new products, lets hope there is some hefty marketing attached. GL | paulcon1
08/8/2018 09:20 | ...and if FBT can't do it why does anyone else have a reason to believe its not only possible but easy! | chriscallen
08/8/2018 09:18 | Apparently Huw Dymond was very impressive at ABE 2018. I am sure he was. What would be even more impressive would be if they had filmed his presentation, edited it and put it on the internet from Australia. We are repeatedly told that this is one of FBTs strengths but as yet there is no evidence to support the claim though Las Vegas and Australia have given plenty of opportunity. | chriscallen

08/8/2018 09:02 | Am not sure FBT are quite in the league of Tesla 😔 The share price reflects the financial performance after 19 years, the lack of consistent identity and current company profile. AIM can be problematic but imho is not a problem with FBT. The Tech seems ground breaking and unique (well played Mr Streater) it is time that the rest of the team reached his levels of excellence and FBT reach the heights that the tech deserve. Large contract wins, effective Marketing, partnerships with top tech companies and a BOD reshuffle and recruitment would see the share price rise to a more beneficial level. IMHO | paulcon1
07/8/2018 20:36 | At what price? I fear he might have a very different price in mind to me! | chriscallen
07/8/2018 20:13 | Agree, SS should take FBT private. | mcsean2164
07/8/2018 17:55 | I see Elon Musk got fed up with the stock market so is ‘considering Short sellers burning SS should take FBT private the stock market doesn’t understand disruptive visionary companies! | nickb
07/8/2018 15:33 | MK The famous Oracle story that young investors here might not know about😀 “I thought we'd sell our technology to Larry Ellison," says Streater. "Eidos had the only technology that could do full-screen, full-motion video in software. And in a $200 computer you can't put in a $400 accelerator card." Streater and his team flew to California and staked out Oracle's lobby. Slowly, they worked their way through underlayers of meetings until the Big One with a top negotiator for the company. "I had to buy a suit," Streater says. Fortunately, a team member had worked for Nordstrom's department store chain and knew what to buy. So they're at the meeting and the negotiator goes to get Ellison, and a pause later in walk 20 people. Streater is new to California, and he's stuck. For £36 million, which one is Larry Ellison? "One of them looked like he was wearing a $30,000 suit instead of a $5,000 suit," says Streater, "and he seemed slightly more confident than the rest, so I decided to take a risk and held out my hand. Nineteen people shrank back in horror. No one shakes the hand of the richest man in California." It took months, but eventually they got the deal by promising half price in return for a public statement saying that Eidos were the cleverest people Ellison had ever met. The next day they got the £36 million, and bought Tomb Raider. Full story | nickb
07/8/2018 15:31 | Bonio Ha Ha ...... It's only funny because it's true...... You never know there maybe a surprising turn of events!! GL | paulcon1
07/8/2018 14:54 | "I have been wondering that myself" worth remembering oracle - afaik - licensed codec tech from eidos to render graphics, i guess to cut out the cost of expensive graphics specific hardware on their network computer. blackbird's bloodline. | _m_k
07/8/2018 13:05 | MK ‘...have to wonder what other applications might benefit from being able to render video like that in java script in the browser. video games for example.’ I have been wondering that myself🤔 Some Cloud video game services seem to be heading for streaming video games rendered in the browser. So I am thinking our technology could help deliver a great service. Also video game technology crossover into our platform could bring benefits to video editing. Very relatable. Of course our technology was born with Eidos | nickb
07/8/2018 12:53 | Chris Another good find, most welcome independent reviews and interview. Painfully slow atm with regards contract wins though but onwards and (hopefully) upwards. GL | paulcon1
07/8/2018 12:41 | thanks mk - will propose that for next year's thread - assuming us buffoons still havent inherited the earth already by then | geheimnis2
07/8/2018 10:58 | Today's Tweet: "Blackbird's cloud-based video editing is as fast and accurate as a desktop workstation says leading media expert, Jay Ankeney, in his excellent article at the @BroadcastBridge #cloudvideo #videoediting #video #technology @IBCShow" | chriscallen
07/8/2018 10:16 | "One day the buffoons will inherit the earth lol" great thread title :-) still recovering from the shock of using blackbird java script editor, it's something else. have to wonder what other applications might benefit from being able to render video like that in java script in the browser. video games for example. guess there are already plenty of games engines for that tech footprint. | _m_k
06/8/2018 18:00 | No rational investors, nick? One day the buffoons will inherit the earth lol | geheimnis2
