Great game from the boys in green.
First half looked like they were struggling but storming second half and deserved to have won.

Think the Germans will struggle but you have to fancy them to go through to next round on solid team work and preparation.

Jez ,that match was on far too early ,only seen the second half and they didn't half play well !
almost won but at least they can hold their heads alot higher after the debacle of the last week or so ,showing they are not a one man team .
Well done to Mick McCarthy whom showed his leadership qualities to get the preformance out of his boys .

Compared to the clowns that we see every week in England, the referee was superb in the Ireland game.
Well done ROI - Duff was MOTM in the 2nd half
(and well done me - bought Cameroon supremacy with SI before the game, and sold Cameroon supremacy with IG at half-time)

Well done ROI. They nearly won the game with Robby's belter of a shot which hit the post.

Keane must be feeling quite remorseful at the moment.

The Ireland team do not seem to be missing him one bit.

yeh but didnt foresee it being that far off the expected, at half time i was certain i would win, but the french couldnt score. Oh well a lost trade , but at least im reading things well!!!

Use of the ultra-lightweight ball I guess means that teams will looking for the maximum number of free kicks around the edge of the area - testing keepers with lots of fast swerving shots. Hope the refs are up for awarding diving medals.

Well the last international match I went to was England vs Mexico at Wembley in 1966.

England won 2-0 and went on to win the cup.
Perhaps I can bring them some luck ......

i backed Pauleta with Ladbrokes, not sure where he had been 66/1.
He is now 28/1 with Betabet, but generally 25/1.

BTW Just noticed that Englands group is decided the day after Frances group, so look out for some possible mucking about with teams trying to avoid France in the next phase.
