01/1/2002 11:33 | Boveq sent me an e-mail at 12:09pm yesterday from New Zealand wanting to be the first to be wishing me and his other friends a HNY. Lastly, was our son in the USA who rang at 5am this morning. Kind of funny really. :-) I always feel "it" isn't real until you wake up to "it" after a night's sleep. "It" being such things as Christmas Day and your birthday, etc. Anyhow, Happy New Year everybody. By the way, do you feel a little bit of a sense of envy about not being part of what's happening in Europe and having some new currency this morning. It's a bit like someone saying "You can't have it," and therefore making you want it even more. I feel the disappearance of the GBP and our inclusion into the single currency regime is most definitely going to happen sorta sooner rather than later. I reckon my own resistance for it has gone down overnight by about 50%. Do you know what I mean? | execline

01/1/2002 02:37 | Well, no change tonight. Been up every night since July when the twins were born. Tonight went to bed at 7pm and woke up a couple of times before mid night then up again at 10 minutes to the hour with one of the twins. Great timing. Trouble is fireworks have kept her awake so now I am out on the patio with my telescope looking at Jupiter and waiting for her to fall asleep. Have given up trying to settle her. Bottle of cabernet sauvigion is keeping me warm. (Hope I don't keep the neighbours up!!) Have a good one everybody. | scripophilist
