Employees ARE hedged by the fact Flybe have secured a 3 year pay deal with them and incentivised them with shares. Seat overcapacity is a necessary evil for a growing airline last time I looked otherwise you couldn't get passenger numbers up 500000 from previous year and add a new route virtually every week. Not sure how they could hedge passemgers as they are not a cost. Hoskings investment upped their stake so hopefully they know more than us.

Another new route Cardiff to Rome in 6 months. May as well make full use of the fuel hedge @ $473 tonne and dollar hedge @ $1.50 to £1 although Mr market seems to think we ain't gonna be around that long by marking us down more in % than ezj.

All airlines are not the same , hence why we're stuck where we are imo. 1 cent movement for EZJ affects profits +/- $1.5 million but Flybe 1 cent movement effects profits(hopefully?) $1730 based on 173000 tonnes fuel to yr end 2016.
Also EZJ fuel hedge is $814 tonne 2016 and $620 tonne 2017
Flybe is $539 tonne 2016 and $473 tonne 2017.

Sterling direction is the elephant in the room for the uk airlines

Heralds consumption austerity of foreign stuff and inceased airline dollar operating costs = toxic for margins

As i said fickle markets at moment. Tui not afected and blue Tcg. Pretty stable. Flybe pulling back from the days low. Hard to read.....K

Thanks Kumula. It is my largest investment and I have bought in 3 times on the way down thinking that I was in at the bottom! talk about a flying knife! I am tempted to purchase again at current levels but lack the confidence to do so!! With my luck I will decide to go in again when it has hit 80p!

Kumala, what is your take on the Flybe chart? 50p seems a tough hurdle at the moment. Thanks

So any thoughts on greybull's previous takeovers? have you noticed their tendancy to takeover companies, asset strip them, then liquidate them?
