04/1/2013 16:16 | I know this is a really stupid question but! if there are very few shares available on the open market to trade and the likes of most on this thread have no intention of selling[my price target is £1.00]how will this affect the shareprice, surely if people want to buy and there are no shares available then the price cannot move.Would this scenario force the market makers to up the price and encourage sellers, because if that is the case this will more than likely explode on any sniff of good news, just glad I stuck my neck out at 17p,looking like a good purchase now,Dreggs you must be really glad you averaged down, maybe the shares you bought in the 90's are not too distant afterall, lets hope not anyway. | pisces4

30/12/2012 21:22 | Hi all, besides the directors (who are very good)I also "buy the dosh" too; We are not some penniless aim dreamer ........ Happy New 2013 everyone ....... Not long now ......... | dreggspicker
30/12/2012 20:28 | Thanks Steve - I think the upside potential here is huge. You are right, Mark Bolton is top quality (so are the other directors) and the investment adage applies here - "buy the directors". Regardless of Witkop, I would expect once they see a good deal to invest the cash then they will take it -the cash pile will be earning maybe 4-5% as non-risk capital, once invested I would expect multiples of that. This is a farm bet for me and I sleep very well at night! | dropside
29/12/2012 00:31 | Nice to see this one coming good. It will be interesting to see where they invest their cashpile, or, whether they choose to wait for Witkop to re-open - or, a combination of the two. I have spoken a few times with the CEO Mark Bolton, and have considerable respect for his integrity and business acumen - both are qualities to be highly valued. Directors like this deserve success, as do their shareholders. I feel sure that MB will make the right decisions to take the business forward. Have a great weekend all, Steve | cyprussteve
20/12/2012 21:34 | Hi grollfam, it has just come to me,I think you live in SA, an old Sallies holder if my memory is correct? Looks like you kept some of your converted shares. Of course you are right and yes they are actively looking for a suitable project, I was told at the AGM we/they have had a close look at least 5 projects in detail and I am sure that is the main job for Mark Bolton at the moment, keeping his ear to the ground and flying the world - rest assured they will not be looking for things that pay back 5%, so it may take a while ...... | dreggspicker
20/12/2012 16:10 | Agreed howdlep, we will have to be patient...Maybe firebird will use the vehicle to inject another exciting project someday.... | grollfam
20/12/2012 15:59 | just like to say that was not me with that 10k @ 21p , was it a sell or a buy? | dreggspicker
20/12/2012 08:45 | of course nett buying/selling will dictate the direction of the share price As for Firebird, I am well aware of their controlling interest. As they are stable, supportive backers of the company, it means the free float of the company is very low, which aids the movement of the share price That is why it is difficult to trade qty in size. Ultimately, pi's need to look at the share price in relation to its market cap and decide whether the risk/reward is attractive at these levels. By putting Witkop on care and maintenance, funds are preserved and other assets progressed. | howdlep
20/12/2012 08:28 | price will go up if there are more buyers than sellers...... the controlling shareholders are a hedge fund,Firebird, & our future is in their hands... | grollfam
20/12/2012 08:00 | what we need is for the likes of RENA to be buying on behalf of their clients. Then watch how quickly the share price will move up. As it, a daily tickup into the mid twenties, then a very important break of resistance and a pickup on both momentum and volume is on the cards. Looking good | howdlep |
