It always startles me when people say the PE puts them off.
The way I see it, a high PE means the stock is a favourite - people are willing to pay X times earnings for it - it should tell you something.
Conversely, on low PEs, people are willing to sell the stock at those lower multiples - which should also tell you something!

Just remember yahoo a few years ago - had a PE of 700 before it went up more than 100% if a few weeks.

I like my stocks with them groovy PE numbers.

Have to say I sold ages ago, well done to the longs here and also have to say people ask for Fevertree over anything else around here.

The PE put me off a little but you can say that about ASOS can't you !

Long and proud here.

Short to your heart's content but trying to argue with a stock that has this momentum behind it is difficult.

Paul Scott generating a fun debate by proclaiming the 'short' case.
PER fwd is about 50. If you really want to criticise the 'value' work out the price to free cash flow ratio - it's eye watering.

An aptly named company. The market certainly has a fever on this with the share price more than quadrupling over the last 18 months. Annual sales of £60m, net cash of £12m, PE of over 60 and a market capitalisation of £820m. A crazy valuation which could make this a fantastic shorting opportunity in due course.

Can understand you disapproval - not quite sure of the need to give themselves part of the company for nothing when they already have significant stakes anyway. Does feel greedy.

I have sold this. I was slightly edgy about the valuation. But the main reason is the directors recent greed at awarding themselves options at next to nothing. I can't stand corporate greed.

I was surprised to be told recently that Fever Tree is not yet widely available in Australia or NZ.
If that is true then that is another very significant market (almost 30m people) where presumably G&T is an established drink.

Beginning of July prior to interims is probably next news.
But I guess we'll see significant new highs before then as folks speculate how material material really is.
Uncomfortable, I agree hydrus, but I would say hang in there as this type of company only comes along once in a blue moon... and then it has to pay for the failures (of which I have one or two!!!).

Amazing sales momentum from FEVR, I'm interested in seeing next results in terms of growth profile. Would like to see States pushing ahead more than anywhere else. I have no idea how to predict longevity of future growth here - very different from most of my top holdings where I look for greater visibility. That makes it an uncomfortable hold in someways but just have to have some faith in the product, brand and management team.

I like the ad for Avis that plays on TV:

Let's go and fly a kite
Upto the highest height

Upto the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear

Let's go... fly a kite!

Oh well, hubris and all that... ;-)

Difficult to keep those C02 bubbles down, I guess!

All together now ;)

It’s a great day, I’m feelin’ good (ohhh)
The possibilites of what I could (ohhh)
Do with the world at my finger tips
My imagination brings a smile up to my lips (ohhh)

Fascinated I am movin fast (ohhh)
I’m optimistic as the days go past (ohhh)
Opportunity is here for me
So come along and take a look because I want you to see (yeahhh)

The world is yours, look a little bit closer
If you want it, come and get it, you can take it over
You can make your tomorrows, what you want them to be
You got the power in your hands, to shape your history

You gotta take it up a level, and go up higher
Put more fuel in the tank, and turn up the fire
Come on, and take leap into your destiny
And come on up, come up, come up with me

We’re going up, up up, and up, up, up (x4)

We’re going up, to the top, won’t stop, now I’m feelin it
Celebrate life, good times all around
I wanna keep it, keep it simple, so its not complicated
And that what goes up, doesn’t have to come down

(ohhh)

It’s looking like another sunny, Sunday
Good days are here, no I’m not waiting on one day
Get up, get movin, and come on and see
Because it’s time to live life, a life that’s happy and free

The world is yours, look a little bit closer
If you want it, come and get it, you can take it over
You can make your tomorrows, what you want them to be
You got the power in your hands, to shape your history

You gotta take it up a level, and go up higher
Put more fuel in the tank, and turn up the fire
Come on, and take leap into your destiny
And come on up, come up, come up with me

We’re going up, up up, and up, up, up (x8)

Indeed.
What are current market expectations, 60% pa growth, or was there a dampener recently?
I am still working on a P/E of 60 as being "reasonable"; am I wrong?
