22/4/2015 07:47 | NASTY RESULTS Loss of £5.1m Outlook looks grim ECS expects to see a continuation of the difficult trading conditions across all of its regions which is being taken into account in managing the division's cost base. In the USA, the outlook for coal prices and consumption appears to have weakened whilst in Australia, lower demand for belting products and services is expected to exacerbate the impact of continuing pricing pressure. In EMEA, any recovery in Europe is expected to be slow, and newer mining markets are expected to remain under pressure. | dlku

12/3/2015 14:06 | FENR duly warned today. Reassuring conference call, cash cushion and dividend maintained. Covered the position belatedly past midday. Malaise has moved further downstream from oil equipment to widgets/components. After 2 weeks of flat-lining at $10, TWI seems to have some tailwind. I bet 95% of the trades there are algos. Is money going back into mining equipment stock? TWI has a huge pile of debt with no covenant and a favorable maturity profile, looks like it is poorly managed by redneck Taylor (hilarious conference call), counts a couple of value investors and one activist (he's recently increased his stake) as shareholders, the large short position (12%) is being covered gradually and the Management bought some shares in December. Stock trades at tangible book value. What have FENR and TWI have in common? Not much, really, just that they both sell rubber to the miners. :-) | alphahunter
12/3/2015 10:40 | bought some FENR | rimmy2000 |
