So those who hang on to the very end will receive this dividend on 18th May as well as the final cash sum per their holding when everything is finalized with th deal on 31st May:

The Board has declared an increased interim dividend of 2.1p per share (1H17: 1.4p). The interim dividend will be paid on 18 May 2018 to shareholders on the register on 4 May 2018.

One of my largest holdings so very pleased. I was tempted to offload a few this morning when it hit 120pish but I haven't ruled out a competitive bid process. FENR has been improving it business efficiency over the last few reports and it may attract others, we'll see.

Also rather sad to see FENR move to foreign hands but as I was too considering to sell my position recently I am glad I stuck it out for a bit longer as I couldn't quite pull the trigger. The decision has been made for me now. I assume we will be looking at around end of May for funds to reach our accounts now?

-- It is expected that the Scheme Document, containing further information about the Acquisition and notices of the Court Meeting and General Meeting, together with the Forms of Proxy, will be posted to Fenner Shareholders and (for information only) participants in the Fenner Share Schemes within 28 days of the publication of this announcement and that the Scheme will be effective before the end of the second quarter of 2018, subject to the satisfaction of all relevant conditions, including the Conditions set out in Appendix 1 to this announcement.

A very good fit for Michelin.

A nice profit for shareholders (like others I topsliced some profits recently so around 2/3 my normal allocation for me).

A sign of the times and a worrying trend for UK plc as it were. The weak pound vs euro is really helping french companies to snap up some bargains.

I doubt a rival bid is in the offing. Without one, this deal is prety much done I suspect. Recommended by larger holders and BoD alike.

Founded in 1861 FENR has been a great invesment for me (in and out several times in the last decade) and I am somewhat sad to see it swallowed up.

I make it my business NOT to get emotional about stocks but in this case I may make an exception. Fenner was founded 2 years after the death of IK Brunel and its passing into foreign hands is rather a shame I feel. I will count my profits with a slightly heavy heart.

Not checked some of the other FENR companies for a while but newsflow seems encouraging on the medical side at Secant:

I sold on Friday, but may buy again. FENR has certainly been cyclical. How much has diversification changed the hitherto cyclical nature of what they do? I will delve further.

It's confirmed. FENR enters the FTSE250 on Monday (15th Jan).

Thanks for that info bus_ter! Did not realize TNT had taken an interest. That is good in that he has quite a following I believe and it hopefully bodes well. I still think the next trading update or results from FENR will be positive and continue the momentum here. Here's looking forward to a good/great year for FENR.

AGM = 11th January

Well done for getting to break-even TC. Hope you will be in profit soon. I bought many years ago too. Watched it drop to the 100p area and then enjoyed it climb back up and past my buy point. I should have bought more as it dropped in hindsight but didn't! Ah well, I can't complain too much as I am now around 50% up and I am sure there is a lot more to come. Had a few dividends too along the way although when I started the yield was good and that is why I invested mainly. Then they cut the dividend the price dropped even more. Now the dividend is gaining strength again too. I might reconsider when I am 100% up ;-)
