Starting to feel like a breakout here. Actual spread is v narrow (sub 1%). Had a nibble based on momentum and chart. Probably a bit to be made here short term

Could be of course, not being too cynical..... Perhaps he's come over from Mango to finally drive Fastjet into ground whilst trying to make things look good...... Then low an behold he's offered job back at Mango again........ Jez, I've got a twisted mind....... Lol

Agreed. But clearly some others are more than happy to buy on the back of just the RNS (unless they are already familiar with the capabilities of the new CEO of course).

a new CEO per se means nothing. he could be any old fool. I'd want a bit more substance before buying off the back of that news.

Miracle worker or not, I suppose the rise is because this is the first overtly positive msg from this lot for a long while-and Nico's taking on the role of CEO provides a whiff of there still being a potential future here - instead of the nose dive air crash that this has been of late and a share price priced to fail.

The Board of fastjet (AIM: FJET) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nico Bezuidenhout as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Company. Nico will take up his position and join the Board as an executive director on 1 August 2016.

Nico will be joining fastjet from Mango Airlines, the low-cost carrier subsidiary of South African Airways, where he has been CEO since Mango commenced operations ten years ago. During his tenure, Nico grew the airline's market share to 25 per cent of the South African domestic air travel market and the fleet to ten Boeing 737-800 aircraft. He also achieved the lowest unit cost within the South African aviation industry through high aircraft utilisation and sustained good load factors.

In addition to playing a pivotal role in the success of Mango, which has been profitable in eight of the past ten years, Nico has also twice acted in the capacity of interim CEO of its parent company.
