Whilst the Schoold deal was rather underwhelming it has to be said, I think much of the recent share price malaise has been down to end of year tax selling. There has been a distinct seller or sellers here in recent weeks. Lots of stocks appear to be a victim of this. Lets hope there are a couple of unexpected positive surprises before the big Leap deal we are all anticipating.

Yes, and I am not sure how long it will actually be until the next deal is announced. I know Leap is due its IPO before end of June but are we going to remain at these levels for the next 2 months or so!

I agree rafboy, even some long term investors were expecting Schoold to be monetised at least at double the FFWD purchase price and while the Lingo Media deal may prove to be a good investment in the long run, what we are all looking at right now is the poor performance of the share price.

Couldn't expect anything other than a fall after recent deals disappoint.

Thanks Ivor, it would appear that there is a queue forming to spoil the party. Thankfully Leap is going to be listed in North America and not in this country. It's a big wide world out there, big enough for everyone to have a slice of the pie and I think it's fair to say that the UK is sometimes slow to catch on to ideas which have started in the USA.

I've decided to cut and run, sorry folks, it seems the market as a whole doesn't agree with your positive outlook(s) especially with the recent large sells, although i shall keep 80k shares the rest has gone into FAL (Falcon Acquisitions) this morning after suspension lifted.

I don't want to spoil the party, but my son who is a leading games designer in UK, believes that Leap is a very minor player in a very competitive market. He has warned me not to expect fireworks when Leap is floated (if indeed it is floated) - there are several other virtual gaming designers some of whom are well ahead of Leap in terms of technology.

kristini - "Leap Gaming is currently in the process of engaging advisers ahead of the proposed IPO which is expected to complete in the first half of 2017" (from the RNS)

'I am looking forward to the Leap Gaming IPO for a real boost to the share price ' when is that likely do we know ?

in the meantime short term pain as the share price trades at a likely discount to NAV-

I have waited here since the price was 16p to find an entry point recently at 10.4 p- looks like it could easily dip to 8p, poor timing as always so just need to forget and be patient........

Also when the Leap IPO takes place that'll obviously be listed so the portfolio should begin to take a more transparent shape with a finite valuation.

Good point about Lingo Media being listed, 888.

Edit: the same applies to FFWD's stake in BLU which is also listed, except that the shares are subject to three lock-in periods.

The Lingo deal will put a value on our holding as we will have shares in a listed company. As it is listed it will also provide an easy exit route when we decide to sell. This seems a good deal to me and will enable the investment to be valued at its market rate in the FFWD accounts.
I am looking forward to the Leap Gaming IPO for a real boost to the share price

Lauders - I think you need to put your friend on the VLG thread in the picture about the "pretty boy's lifestyles". Presumably he is referring to Jim Mellon & Lorne Abony, neither of whom was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Lorne Abony came from a very poor background and his current wealth has been accumulated through sheer hard work and astute business contracts.

Well, what a lousy reaction to the news. Guess the market was really excited about that news! Hope the expected Leap news brings a more positive reaction.

The news from Lingo Media's perspective:

The Lingo Media website looks OK. See they have the same update issues as FFWD. Outdated blog and not much on the news front. This was the first news this year. I wonder why companies can't get to grips with the concept that PR drives interest in the company and shows there is a passion behind the public "face" of the company. At the moment FFWD still has a lot of work to do. Would love to be in the UK and attend the Master Investor event and ask a few direct questions to Jim and Lorne!

PS. DB4 - Yes we are banging our heads against a brick-wall. I am fortunate I have a relatively small holding here and just bought in the hope things would blast off to a point where I could take profits and let the free shares run. Not quite working out as planned!

PPS - Lingo Media's share price performance hardly inspires confidence but at least it has been edging up recently. Shame FFWD could not match the 11% GAIN they had yesterday.

I don't really think for one minute that you can compare FFWD to TERN, especially not in the quality of the BoD.:-)
