11/10/2016 08:28 | 10/10/2016 STATOIL N SKANDI ICEMAN AHTS R/M SONGA DELTA So much for my theory above! Unless NF3 is far enough away from NF2 that they prefer to move to it, but it was described as a sidetrack and so that seems most unlikely. | rogerlin
10/10/2016 08:39 | The permit for 6407/7-9 A never seemed to appear on the list either for that matter. It looks as if 6407/7-9 B is for a separate prospect NF3 and so why should they not drill that, unless the results of S and A are completely disappointing which seems unlikely given the time taken to date? All very hopeful IMHO but Statoil are not very forthcoming are they! Given that FPM have only 7.5% and Njord A is out of action I don't suppose we can expect any great leap in the share price, but it will all add up in the end. | rogerlin
10/10/2016 00:11 | I had a look at that, r, Dvalin was new to me before reading that bulletin. Dvalin seems to be northeast of Fogelberg and the gas will be partially processed at Heidrun, and "routed through a new export pipeline to Polarled ..." which is the interesting bit. Fogelberg which has similar gas/condensate as Morvin seems to be held up by a capacity bottleneck at Asgard B where the Morvin output is processed. But NPD shows Fogelberg as a Discovery in Planning Phase. That looks more recent than the FPM Webpage, and this is also on NPD about Fogelberg (updated 26/02/2016): The planned development solution is subsea templates tied to Åsgard B. A plan for development and operation (PDO) is expected to be submitted in 2018 and production is planned to start in 2021. I think the FPM page may be out of date, but DYOR On the Njord NF2 sidetrack, that will be three weeks old on Tuesday, and there is no sign of a permit for the second sidetrack, 6407/7-9 B, but no bookings for tugs either. Not sure what to make of that. It could be testing? Or are they just being secretive? It's not exactly urgent, of course, with Njord A unavailable. | wbodger
07/10/2016 09:22 | This new gas field (PL435) is not far from Faroe's Fogelberg (PL433), might provide another option for developing it? | rogerlin
04/10/2016 16:17 | Suggests here that Dazzler may spud "before year end". | rogerlin
04/10/2016 10:16 | Many thanks rogerlin for keeping us updated. | brexitmania
04/10/2016 09:33 | "Primary object of exploration well 6407 / 7-9 S is to prove hydrocarbons in Tilje Formation of Jurassic age. Secondary purpose is to test the sandstones in the Ile Formation (Jurassic-age). Top reservoir in Ile formation is forecasted to 3806 m TVD MSL. If the results from the main well is not conclusive with respect to hydrocarbon filling the reservoir, there is an option to drill a flank sidetrack, 6407 / 7-9 A. To additionally confirm commercial resources in the nearby NF3 prospect, there is an option to drill a sidetrack, 6407 / 7-9 B, to this from a main well." | rogerlin
03/10/2016 20:16 | BrexitMania, I noticed that there is in fact information on the nature of the sidetrack in Scaff55's post (7759) and have edited my earlier comment (7767) accordingly! Faroe used to do lots of pretty geological cartoons for forthcoming drills, which might have been helpful here, but since the appraisal drills on Pil turned out rather disappointing we haven't had so much geology which is a pity IMHO as the major partners don't say much at all. | rogerlin
03/10/2016 19:52 | Thank you rogerlin and understood. You are far more informed than I am and I appreciate your input. Hooefully, a positive announcement will be forthcoming soon. | brexitmania
03/10/2016 17:39 | Tullow seems to be selling other licences too. Looking quickly through FPM's list the only other one I can see where TLW have a stake is PL811 Gullaxy which is north of Butch/Oda, which is on the Aker/BP list and makes sense. | rogerlin
03/10/2016 17:33 | BrexitMania. As I understand it a sidetrack is usually to appraise the extent of something that has been found in the first drill, implying that something has been found (although it still may or may not be commercial), but sometimes there are two separate targets in which case there may have been nothing in the first drill, sorry I am not well enough informed to know which is the case here. I think Faroe would put out an announcement if they could, but they may be constrained by Statoil who are the operator. Edit. Looking back at Scaff55's earlier post (7759), it includes: "Prospect: Njord North Flank - 2 (NF-2) Primary Target: Jurassic Tilje Formation Secondary Target: Ile Formation Sidetrack Plans: 2 contingent sidetracks. Downdip appraisal of NF-2 (6407/9A) and NF-3 Prospect (6407/9-B)." That surely suggests that the current sidetrack is an appraisal of the first drill, but not much to go on! | rogerlin
03/10/2016 16:11 | Rogerlin, thanks. Do sidetracks mean that the original drill was dry or otherwise, or is it just to widen the field of play? | brexitmania
30/9/2016 21:38 | They are now drilling a sidetrack 6407/7-9A which began on 20.09.16 and so I think an announcement is now unlikely until the end of that, and as a second sidetrack is possible maybe not until the end of that too, but sidetracks are often a positive sign. | rogerlin
30/9/2016 07:53 | 45 days since spudding.....mmm, longer than usual before making an announcement | eggs benedict
28/9/2016 21:51 | "Results from the well will be announced when drilling operations have been completed." No initial announcement then and indeed they did not promise one. Depends on Statoil I suppose. | rogerlin
22/9/2016 20:21 | Hard to tell how successful but for me it must have been. | scaff55
22/9/2016 20:09 | Thanks Scaff55, didn't know there were two "contingent sidetracks". Contingent on success in the first drill, let us hope (although they did sidetrack at Butch East in spite of the first drill being dry if I recall correctly). | rogerlin

22/9/2016 16:03 | NPD fact page for PL107C now says 6407/7-9A Entered date 20.09.16. Looks like the side track is on. | rogerlin
22/9/2016 14:01 | Canaccord reiterate 'buy' and keep price target at 100p today. Shares are in demand. Price up about 5% atm. News leaking about the NNF well? Or, ongoing consideration of the interims? Who knows? Whatever, good to see regain the level of the 70p placing. | ed 123
20/9/2016 23:02 | Thanks for that link, rogerlin. | wbodger
20/9/2016 17:09 | A little light reading! Some of these new prospect names feature on page 72. Says that Cassidy is 8 km north of Butch. | rogerlin
20/9/2016 16:24 | The second to last paragraph here however suggests that FPM may have accumulated a further 5% in Perth. | rogerlin |
