Increased my holding up to 90K of these. I'm still aiming to get 100K before the drilling begins. I am a long term holder and will be holding through any storm that comes our way. The $ is going to collapse in the next 18 months, Oil will probably continue South as I believe the US Gove want cheap oil as to punish Russia. Russia need $100 per barrel to break even, and they cant stop producing or the wells will freeze going in to winter and then they will have to wait until summer before the can produce again. This is a political move to punish them. None of these matters actually directly affect FOGL at the point in there business. We will probably see the usual low come in around early January and then hopefully see a steady rise as more news comes out in Q1/Q2. The drills are still coming.

Good evening ben. I have read one analysts opinion that the US market is way overpriced and there could be a crash. Same chap said the UK stock market is the best value its been for 40 years; so we are alright.

The debt that US frackers owe WILL KILL THEM.
"It was a virtuous cycle; lease land for X, convince investors that it is worth a few times X, see your shares appreciate, raise more capital, buy more land from competitors to show that the value of the land was appreciating, raise more capital, rinse, repeat, make sure that Wall Street gets I-banking fees while receiving enough analyst upgrades to continue the charade."

As soon as the dollar starts to collapse (within 10 months) because of China's Yuan becoming the reserve currency for oil, gold & other trades,
this will sky rocket.
The only thing holding this back is because the US is extorting the world with their new wmd, ISIS. As long as ISIS exists & the US is the only player seemingly engaging them, the petrodollar will still remain. It is not in the US interest to destroy ISIS completely, just to make it look good.
However, China is about to make a move on ISIS & if they succeed in destroying it, the Saudis will have no reason to oversupply the market with dollar denominated oil; instead they will use the Yuan, the IMF's "SDR" or something else.
The dollar will collapse; gold, silver & oil prices will rise while US hedge funds escape their government's bank asset seizures.

I agree with you agna, they are political shenanegans commodity prices are manipulated all the time and I would not be surprised if hurting Russia is one of the main reasons, there is no way that one minute we have dwindling oil and the next a glut.

That's the point agnabeya; oil will be in a different place in 2 to 3 years.
Been looking at the economics of the oil slump & boring peeps on the BOR thread with my theories. Very appropriate place , lol.

cyan - very good luck with it.
I don't think we can quibble about the share price at these levels.
I think there's not much we can do about the political shenanigans with the oil price either - - but at this price getting in and them sitting tight for a rise seems a no brainer for me.
Only IMHO of course - but I wouldn't be doing that if I thought I'd lose a lot of money on it. :)

Edit:
Found this link on the other BB -
but even if and when it all comes out in the wash - they'll probably still begin fracking here.

younasm - I did. Only a gut feeling I would get some at that price.
I managed at 18.5 which brought down my average - so now i'm just waiting.
I don't know about the oil price - but my feelings are it won't last as long as people think. Second half of 2015 to start rising again IMHO.

Oil price rise -- you might see it rise from current levels (wti=$80) in Q4 2015. In the meantime, WTI crude needs to get closer to $60 - with brent $5-6 higher.

America's fracking industry will collapse because of lawsuits & operating debt costs.

Remember that cheaper oil is favourable to rigs over fracking because fuel costs drop (the main cost). Fracking's costs are related to the complexity of the operations too.

I don't subscribe to the 'dwindling resource' line and haven't since 1998. :)

agna, I am not so sure. Oil has been so expensive that I think it's time it came down and the North Sea is becoming depleted and therefore more expensive to start new projects.

Truly -
I don't think it will stop anything for long.
This is a politically manufactured drop in oil price by OPEC.
For the same political reasons, the US will do everything they can to combat it.
I only hope it doesn't include new Mid-Eastern wars etc.

Whatever happens, we will have to ride it out.
Russia will be looking for more oil as the sanctions bite and their reserves get used.
I got my final wee top-up today. So now I sit and wait. GLA

As the price of oil at the moment should not be affecting this share to such an extent as the recent fall.Is there something else which as yet has not been disclosed or is it just the work of the muppets
