17/12/2010 09:12 | Edward Bramson, an activist investor who has built up a 17% stake in F&C Asset Management (FCAM.LN) though his vehicle Sherborne Investors, looks set to mount a bid for full control of the company with an attempt to install himself as chairman. etc | typo56
16/12/2010 16:30 | Out at 74p. Other fish to fry. Good luck to all holders. I may buy back if we have a major pull-back. | lord gnome
16/12/2010 09:50 | Jackel I think the rise over recent months was mainly down to the 250 funds acquiring so we may not see much change in the short term. | warranty
15/12/2010 12:14 | Yeah read in FT today that the sell off yesterday was probably due to small cap funds selling. I'm topping up big time buying chunks all day long for when the FTSE 250 funds start buying this up! | the jackel
15/12/2010 10:16 | Cant believe this buying/top-up opportunity! IMHO it will never be this cheap again. Best of luck to all holders and buyers. PIM | petersinthemarket
14/12/2010 20:45 | Last I saw they were on the waiting list :) Must've missed the actual post where it said they'd got in. I tend to skim read most as it's a tad difficult keeping up when you're following 50+ threads. Thanks for the heads up | fangorn2
14/12/2010 19:45 | Fangorn2, if you read from a few post ago you'll see they enter the FTSE 250 tomorrow. The reason for the today's fall is probably a sell-off by SmallCap funds. I'd expect the recovery to start tomorrow. | typo56
14/12/2010 18:22 | Hmm this one took a bit of a beating today I see. Down a significant 6.4% or so. any thoughts on why? Some profit taking after the decent run? Did i make it into the Ftse250 after all? | fangorn2
13/12/2010 20:35 | Perhaps Warranty. I was thinking more of index tracker funds where they may be more influential for a share at the top of the FTSE SmallCap index than a share at the bottom of the FTSE 250. Watch out for a large uncrossing trade at close tomorrow when the trackers adjust their weightings. | typo56
13/12/2010 20:29 | Not such a hi yield at the moment, the interim div was cut in half and maybe expect 2.15p final div.FCAM Forecasts from Digital Look Year Ending Revenue (£m) Pre-tax (£m) EPS P/E PEG EPS Grth. Div Yield 31-Dec-10 251.78 34.93 5.63p 13.9 0.6 +23% 3.15p 4.0% 31-Dec-11 300.43 50.04 7.43p 10.5 0.3 +32% 3.38p 4.3% | enami
13/12/2010 20:16 | Maybe Typo but there can't be many Smallcap shares yielding 8% or so which I would have thought was a further advantage of buying FCAM. I also think if the market does have a run up in 2011 Fund Managers etc. should do very well. | warranty
13/12/2010 07:38 | Actually, FCAM will be moving into the FTSE 250 index on Wednesday (15 Dec), replacing BSS. That's earlier than if they had been promoted in the quarterly review. I'm not sure being at the bottom of the FTSE 250 is going to attract a lot of fund buying. They may lose more from SmallCap funds than they gain from FTSE 250/350 funds. | typo56
10/12/2010 08:57 | The share price will likely fall back now they didn't make it into the 250 then. What price next I wonder? | warranty
09/12/2010 16:08 | good news all the same | solarno lopez
09/12/2010 13:02 | Just missed out on FTSE250 entry but FCAM is on the reserve list | enami
04/12/2010 12:08 | Cheers Enami! I was hoping someone would contribute to the FTSE 250 discussion as inclusion will mean a lot of funds orientated for the FTSE 250 will be buying and increasing the sp! This coupled with more QE2 plus the Santa Rally and maybe if were lucky a broker upgrade should set FCAM well on its way for a strong finish for the year! Good trading all! | the jackel
03/12/2010 22:35 | Looking good for re-entry then, probably explains the recent consistent rise with the fundies buying their share. With the current dividend as well this is an excellent share to hold in an ISA. | warranty
03/12/2010 19:37 | FCAM has moved above the automatic entry level for the FTSE250. FTSE review is based on the closing prices next Tuesday. | enami
03/12/2010 18:22 | FCAM is slowly becoming a star performer in my portfolio! It was losing for me for a long time but I persisted as I knew its merits and its paying me back handsomely! Should be included in the FTSE 250 soon plus more QE2 and liquidity in the markets should pump the share price up even further! Also broke its all time high resistance level for the year! | the jackel
03/12/2010 09:11 | Yes nice steady uptrend here. Happy to hold until the trend reverses. | trader steve
03/12/2010 08:53 | What a star this share is, steady and consistent upward flow. | warranty
16/11/2010 19:17 | Held up well today under the circumstances. | warranty
12/11/2010 09:24 | Might have been a bit premature on the 82 front! Still, I have no place better to put the money right now so it can stay here for a while yet. | salpara111
11/11/2010 09:57 | I guess tracker funds are gradually acquiring holdings now for re-entry into FTSE 250...long may it continue. When that happens you usually get a pull back on re-entry as the buying momentum subsides. I am tempted to set a sell order for 82 as that target may be reached rather sooner than I imagined, however FCAM finally seem to be gaining some traction so I might just cut my holding in half at around that level and let the rest run. Now all I have to do is hope that my 82 target can be reached! | salpara111 |
