Production report well received today.
good to see increased demand for manufactured steel products in russia.
i like the roman abramovich connection, he has friends in high places.

they did well on steel rails in russia.
increased spending on rail in russia must be big business.
even replacing old stuff.

just imagine the pub quiz question.
'what is the longest railway journey in the world'?
answer ' vladivotok to st.petersburg.. 5500 miles.'

come on roman, have a chat with your chum putin and get the rail replacement contract.

Statement re. press speculation concerning EVRAZ Highveld Steel and Vanadium

9 July 2013 - EVRAZ (LSE: EVR) ("EVRAZ") confirms the recent press speculation that EVRAZ Highveld Steel and Vanadium ("EVRAZ Highveld"), EVRAZ's South African subsidiary, and Arkein International ("Arkein") have signed an agreement to establish a joint venture, Nyanza Light Metals (PTY) Limited ("Nyanza"). The joint venture has been set up to perform feasibility studies around the possible extraction of titanium from the waste steel slag produced by EVRAZ Highveld and its beneficiation to produce the titanium dioxide pigment. EVRAZ Highveld will initially own a 20% share in the joint venture.

At present the project is at an early stage and does not require significant capital investment. It would be premature at present to estimate the potential size of likely capital expenditure. EVRAZ Highveld's future level of participation and actual share in the project will depend on the results of the feasibility studies and the decisions by EVRAZ Highveld's future owner.

The entry into the joint venture project will not affect the ongoing negotiations for the sale of EVRAZ Highveld, which is expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2013.

she was almost certainly well out of her depth and hadn't a clue how markets work.
she probably meant well but would have been better employed staying at home and making jam.

What a terrible principle.
that smart guys in the city can benefit hugely from the demise of a company.
it invites corruption.

How would you feel going in for surgery if everyone in the operating theatre stood to profit from your death?
A successful outcome would cost them money.

not a good situation.

the mind boggles.
British Steel taught us that size was no guarantee of survival.
but the collapse in this share over the last 7 months is mind boggling.

roman abramovich owes a big chunk of these.
he would not pull the same stunt as ENRC would he?

Market cap now below 1.4bn.
he could buy the bits he does not own for peanuts.

-70% in 6 months.
the world has not changed that much in 6 months.
it would take a nuke on china to cause such a crash.

Typical timing of my buy yesterday! Down 6% already. Still as I said yesterday, these are for the long term. Just hope that we're not in a situation here the price gets marked down to the point where original owners take it private on the cheap. Guess that's the most significant risk here: an ENRC style rip off!

a 70% fall in 6 months.
low demand = low prices = no profit.

but -70%, was no one smart enough to see this coming?

Whats wrong with evr today?
other miners having a good day after Alcoa results and statement.
..I know that short term momentum traders follow the curve and are not bothered by details such as business prospects.
maybe that is the answer.
i am beginning to answer my own questions, a bad sign.

sensible approach fella. I have done similar, traded once from 1.01 to 1.08 for some free shares and then back in at 99.4p. Small beer amounts but like these for the long term and will prob either ignore or top up if they reduce in value considerably.
