skintvestor - Youre lucky it hasnt dropped further.Basically this company in the pre-downturn period isnt performing and they only see breakeven next year.Whats it going to be like when the economy goes belly up is anyone's guess. Dont like the comment about Kitbag suffering in terms of fulfillment.

Could anyone please enlighten me.

Today, the volume in these shares amounted to 86,231 and according to the trades on ADVFN were as follows:

Buys 29,918
Sells 31,313
? 25,000

How does that account for a 23.5p drop in the share price? Or am I missing something?

Kleeneze on its own turns over in excess of £100m per annum, and growing. (expansion into Germany in May). I still think this is a temporary blip and have seen this happen before with this company.

p.s. my share purchase still not showing as a buy yet!

Then again, it looks like they are warning of loses this year and on top of that they are only expecting breakeven next year due to increased marketing they are planning. It makes it look like two profit warnings in the same statement. I like their internet businesses, but how much are they worth on their own?

Just added some more to my holding, as I believe this company is fundamentally sound. I see no real reason for the way the share price has been marked down this morning. I expect these to recover over the coming months.

Are the net liabilities something to worry about on the balance sheet.

EUROPEAN HOME RETAIL plc

TRADING UPDATE

European Home Retail plc announces a trading update in respect of the year
ending 30 April 2006.

In our interim statement dated 7 December 2005 we said that we were starting to
see turnover at Kleeneze Europe slow down with sales of the main book, which
represents 60% of turnover, particularly disappointing.

Since then, despite year on year growth in our Christmas catalogue, the sales of
the main book have not picked up as seen in previous years and, overall,
turnover is now flat in Kleeneze Europe year on year. As a result, we will not
be able to offset the increase in the costs that we highlighted at the interims.
Therefore, despite continuing to reduce the cost base, operating profit for
the year as a whole will be disappointing.

Our internet retailing businesses continue to grow strongly with year on year
turnover up 50% on a like for like basis. We have taken the decision to drive
this growth through increased marketing expenditure and this will adversely
affect the results for the current year. Furthermore, the sudden dramatic
increase in demand at Kitbag over the Christmas period caused issues with
fulfilment and delivery, thereby incurring increased costs. As a consequence we
are accelerating our integration plans to ensure Kitbag is positioned to grow
profitability in the future.

As a result of the above, it is expected that the Group will record a small loss
before amortisation, exceptionals and tax for the year ending 30 April 2006.

It is the Board's current intention to pay a final dividend of 0.68p per share
which, when combined with the interim dividend of 1.12p, would make a total
dividend for the year ending 30 April 2006 of 1.80p.

The move to "as live" broadcasting at eeZee tv has resulted in the planned
reduction in overheads and we remain on target to break even at the operating
level for the year ending 30 April 2007.

The Board remains committed to the strategy of building a multi-channel retail
Group across catalogues, the internet and television shopping. We continue to
drive growth in our internet retailing businesses and Kleeneze Europe's launch
in Germany is on schedule for May this year. We are accelerating the
integration of our back office facilities and are focused on reducing the cost
base. Having totally re-shaped the Group in the last three years, we continue
to develop the strengths of our existing operations to build shareholder value.

Dividend paid yesterday of 1.12p per share. Kleeneze expands into Germany this summer. Way undervalued IMHO.

Very low volumes of trading in the shares. Even as I post this a 5,000 buy goes through!!

Hi,

Haha !! ;-D

Isn't it very late for a Xmas update though ? Half Term has already been & gone.

I bought loads of Xmas pressies for the family from IWOOT, and to be honest was pretty disappointed with them - esp the remote control plane for £40 that nose-dived into the ground at every opportunity.

That said, the other things did look quite fun. Must ask my niece what she thought of the "ant colony" thing - looked great (you get a couple of ants from the garden & then put them into a glass tomb full of blue gel, and then amuse yourself watching them burrowing holes through it).

Lift the lid once a month, or they die from oxygen asphixiation. £19.99

Cheers, Paul.
