12/2/2015 14:25 | IMS in Nov was not great which caused that drop, this time around its more speculative - only 4 weeks till the results for proper news I guess its going to be a mixed bag. Hopefully signs that margins are going to improve and a decent underwriting performance. The weather over the last couple of months has been fairly benign which is a help but probably little sign of personal injury claims dropping. I seem to get more calls about "my accident" than I ever did before. I'd like to see govt action to stop them. But the big issue for me will be the dividend - only real reason I hold these. | dr biotech
12/2/2015 14:12 | Just look at the right header chart....beginning of Nov 2014 just above 240p and the price dipped lower...now once again 2 days ago as soon as the price reached just above 240p and the broker downgrades....either this is scripted or is it foul play going on? !!.... | diku

30/1/2015 16:10 | I'm out and glad to take some profit. US GDP halved this quarter and no market is immune to what happens over there. Limit buy in place at 215 if I can get it before ex divi. | bikeaholic
26/1/2015 21:16 | At 7% dividend, I don't mind price fluctuations as bought for long term. Best management in the insurance industry. | gutterhead
26/1/2015 09:59 | I don't trust this rise at all. I think its based on hope rather than fundamentals. Got a trailing stop loss in place to protect a small profit. | bikeaholic
26/1/2015 09:41 | Yes pls, back to its original issue price would be even better. | gutterhead

15/1/2015 17:21 | I didn't say you couldn't blame it - only that there's no point! Just get on with working properly around it. Nothing is ever perfect, and nothing will ever be perfect. As I say, that very fact can be a help to us rather than a hindrance! | redsonning
15/1/2015 14:01 | If I pay for services but these services are supplied using unreliable technology I reserve the right to blame that technology for missed opportunities. | bikeaholic
15/1/2015 09:44 | No point blaming the technology - the range of prices shown on many stocks is often not in accord with casual viewing of the market. You just have to learn how to work with it all and make the best of it! In fact misinformation and aberration are useful - these are the places where small percentage gains can be made. | redsonning
15/1/2015 09:12 | Thats not what should happen though, the daily high is usually the mid-price in which case my sell order at 225 (even with a 1p spread) should have been executed. | bikeaholic
14/1/2015 22:26 | The 2 trades at 9.10 with a wide spread and ADVFN registers the high price as high of the day.... | diku
14/1/2015 16:17 | Whats with ADVFN? Showing a daily high of 226.10 when it never even got above 225. | bikeaholic
13/1/2015 13:11 | Higher premiums doesn't always mean higher profits. "By Dan Hyde, Consumer Affairs Editor Drivers taking advantage of lower petrol prices to spend more time on the roads have inadvertently caused car insurance premiums to rise, figures show. The cost motor insurance policies in Britain rose by £12, or 2 per cent, in the final three months of last year to reach £594 on average. It marked the first consecutive quarterly increase since 2011, according to comparison website Confused.com. The fall, which ended a price war in which insures have cut car cover rates by a third in four years, was linked to more people driving and causing accidents. The total number of miles driven on Britain's roads increased by more than 2 per cent in 2014. Stephen Jones, of analysts Towers Watson, said families were able to use their cars more because petrol prices had fallen by nearly a fifth since the summer. A litre of petrol costs £1.10, down from £1.33, according to the RAC. Heavier traffic led to more crashes, Mr Jones said, with insurers increasing premiums to protect their profit margins." | bikeaholic
13/1/2015 12:41 | was a report that said premiums had risen by something like 2% in Nov/Dec. Its not exactly a hardening of the market, but it might signal that at least its not going down any more. | dr biotech |
