monty etp been in a tradeing range of 4.30/4.90 for a while now good short term tradeing .limited downside at 4.30 but good potential on the upside 1/oil price rises 2/middel east problems 3/usa smak iraq 4/cold winter 5/takeover .the downside is 1/ opec cuts dont come 2/usa do a deal with russia on oil export

Monty why don't you use financial spreads facility, I've got ETP june bet at 479p so anything above that by the middle of june is profit and with no outlay, if you are so sure of the downside you could make a great killing, just a thought

This has to one of the best shares for either holding for a takeover, a gradual recovery on sound fundamentals from an oversold price, or just swing-trading, given its recent price movements and steady upwards underlying movement over the last month or so. It's not often that a share can be all of these at the same time.

I have read all the fundamentals going back a couple of years and the various threads, trying to establish why is went so low, without real success, other than it is 'disliked' by 'the City'.

The 5 year chart shows the worst case scenario when the oil price went to $10 per barrel - and how long it stayed that low for. I am holding purchases at 440, 450 and yesterday when it dropped at the end of the day at 462. If it falls, I'll buy more - it's so safe at this level on fundamentals.

Will probably trade with one lot and keep the other two for the receovery/takeover - as stated further up the tread, inevitable if the price stays this low. Historical PE ratio of under 5, still around 6 at current crude prices - daft in a company this size.

as the thread title suggests , 430p does indeed look dirt cheap. what a shame it is that i purchased in august :o(
still , you never know what the future holds. ETP remains IMHO the most likely target of any M&A activity in the sector.

Should ETP share price not recover to a more realistic level I think we can expect a bid
When oil companies are able to see a more stable outlook to oil prices they will have a better idea of where to pitch a fair offer for Enterprise Oil.
If ETP stays at this level or drifts lower a bid is imminent ETP is a class act with prestigious acreage.
The city hates it so watch it get taken out by shrewd operators.

Looks like opec is going to agree on the 28/12 is having a positive impact on oil stocks, good rise in the short term barring any takeover announcement?

norways cut is expected this weekend hope its a big one ,after holding up well on the 12th got back in at 4.33p usa might help the oil price by giving sadam a bit of a kicking ,and snow on the way i hope

etp not mentioned as poss fts exit so should be safe ,diydan look at the oil futures gives more of a clue to oil company shares ,etp held up better than i expected today as opec see a decline in oil price + a big stock of oil in the usa due to mild weather

this could be a bad red day ,would look to buy in £4 -£4.10 i think this would be around bottom on etp short term with a up side of £4.80

russia opening a new oil port so opec not so sure russia will stick to its 150,000 barrels a day oil cut which means norway and others will not play ball ,could start a price war not good for any oil stock, diydan did say russia not to be trusted

cannot see why this is down so much, all the numbers looked good to me and unless others know something we do not it should be priced much higher than this. But who knows
