22/8/2012 14:59 | Ed, looks like Speckled Jim has returned with yet another announcement!! Sales Heavyweight joins Endace in APAC ex Cisco, IBM/Juniper, Riverbed. Serious talent being attracted now. "Endace is a small company with big ambitions. I'm thrilled to be joining such an innovative company, building a strong presence in the channel, and being involved in Endace's expansion across Asia Pacific," said Gray. You've timed that well 5070! Looking at the volume spike a month ago, I think you'd be right with your technical interpretation ;o) | knackers
22/8/2012 14:40 | Joined you in this today. FOrm a charting perspective it looks like a nice bowl has been forming. | 5070481
22/8/2012 14:37 | Carrier networks, carrier pigeons...? All the same ;o) "Catch-the-pigeon. Catch-the-pigeon!" | knackers
22/8/2012 14:11 | keep the announcements coming! obviously it appears the news releases are sent by pidgeon carriers from nz! | edwardt
22/8/2012 14:01 | I'm liking this - confident talk. No job too dirty, no pipe too small - or should that be 'large' ;o) To prove the power of its visibility response and root cause infrastructure, Endace is offering organizations with serious network problems the opportunity to have Endace come in and solve their problem for them. "We're so confident that our network recording technology can help organizations reduce MAX-TTR that we're prepared to stake our reputation on it," said Spencer Greene, senior vice president, product management at Endace. "The problems that we help our customers deal with are very real and very costly. Providing 100% accurate retrospective network visibility almost always reveals the true source of network problems." | knackers
22/8/2012 13:29 | Nice to [finally] get the confirmation of Sri's appointment. To go from product managing Junos s/w at Juniper to Endace says it all. Also spotted that O2 Networks reseller tie-up a couple of months back. One wonders why the delay? PR thunderstorm in the wings? | knackers
22/8/2012 10:17 | No mention. Indeed - something's changed/dropped for them to be driving headcount this hard. And they have been cautious, by the looks aligning h/c to revenue. The new product and marketing roles (5) in San Fran had been planned for Feb/Mar this year and ended up being placed in Jul/Aug (4-6 month delay). So they're playing a sensible game. But headcount seems to be on a roll now, up by 7 this past month alone and at 191 (LinkedIn) just a few shy of the peak in early Nov/Dec 2011. 55 in the US, worth watching that number, it could be 65-70 by March 2013. Momentum in the US seems to be building nicely and I'm seeing more and more niche consultancies reselling their tech there. Looking forward to the AGM and Sept updates. For whatever reason, confidence is back and it's building. Then again Panmure flagged that back in May and where was the share price then?!! A lot of lost ground to be made up here....a lot (25% for starters) | knackers
22/8/2012 09:29 | no mention of valuation used on the sale? i suppose eda's increasing head count must mean that matters are going to plan, assuming they are only expanding headcount on a matched basis to increased revenue. if this is not the case, they may lose my support! | edwardt
14/8/2012 09:17 | LinkedIn now reporting headcount back to 190. Numbers in the US up to 54. This week yet another new marketing joiner: Director of Product Marketing (Sunnyvale US) Recent new hires in US: 1. VP Corporate Development and Alliances 2. Director Product Management 3. Director Product Marketing 4. Manager Tactical Marketing Programs 5. National Account Director Currently recruiting... i) Senior Product Line Manager ii) Channel Marketing Director | knackers
13/8/2012 12:41 | Yup, I think a combi with the AGM - or just before - Ed. But who knows. If we look back, prior to 2009/10, AGMs were in Sept which provided the opportunity for a trading update. So either way, there'll be news. Exactly what news...? I see EDA are recruiting another senior product manager in Sunnyvale, reporting to the new Director of Product Mgt (who in turn reports to Spencer Greene). Headcount knocking on the door of 190 again. | knackers
13/8/2012 09:57 | the silence is starting to become deafening here. i suppose if anything has happened with the 'new' shareholder, it may be tied up wiht the agm? | edwardt
07/8/2012 12:24 | good spot - will settle down with a cuppa and read the annual report. i am getting a wee bit more relaxed about the share price. i get the feeling that management are pretty busy!- let them get on with it, the share price will come good in time. | edwardt
07/8/2012 10:17 | Well paint me even more optimistic, Ed ;o) Perhaps a bit tardy but discovered this morning that Endace's old head of EMEA, Rob Pollard has returned to the fold as VP EMEA, great news - I wonder what enticed him back..? Paul Snow can now return to a 100% focus on sales. And I see sizeable (unmatched) sells going through on Fri (7k) and again today (5k) both followed by price tick-ups. I sense our "mystery shopper" hasn't gone away and we still haven't had a buyer/holding declaration following L&G's sell down. What do you make of that then? If the L&G sell-down and holding RNS was accurate someone must be sitting on a very sizeable chunk of stock ~15%. | knackers
07/8/2012 08:22 | Smart and confident. 2012 Annual Report: "A decade to celebrate" "During 2011 we turned 10. In more than a decade of trading, we've sold more than 2,000 systems and 15,000 DAG cards, which is an achievement we're extremely proud of. We have never felt more in tune with the needs of our customers and the market than we do today and with 10 years of experience behind us, we are better equipped to take on the market than we've ever been before." | knackers
03/8/2012 11:47 | One for the diary, AGM 5 Sept. Slightly later than recent years and close enough to H1 for a trading update, though PG seem to have been keeping in close touch. | knackers
02/8/2012 09:03 | I just love your optimism! | edwardt
01/8/2012 17:15 | hey let's hope so, could do with some good news here. | edwardt
01/8/2012 09:11 | Very little though obvious enough since early Q2 have made a concerted moved into the network visibility market - with the acquisition of Anue ($145m) preceding this BreakingPoint deal ($160m). It would appear that EDA's current price is at a considerable discount to sale value ;o) More significant p'haps is the resurgence of corporate activity in this market. Given the accelerating trend towards virtualised business applications deployed in the cloud and the introduction of new bandwidth-hungry apps, like tele-presence and VoIP - not to mention the associated performance and security concerns, and challenges of monitoring 10gb/s+ networks, we're well placed. Someone's going to be interested but I think it'll be a considerably larger player than IXIA ;o) If Endace were as weak as their current share price suggests they'd have been bought by now. | knackers
01/8/2012 08:41 | knackers - what do you know of IXIA - apparently recently bought breaking point for over 4 times revenue? | edwardt
26/7/2012 09:00 | Looks like US drive is underway, new US hires in the last fortnight: 1. Director of Product Mgt (ex Juniper) 2. Enterprise Sales Dir (ex Q1 Labs - IBM owned) 3. National Account Mgr (ex Fishnet Security) Only marginal changes in overall global h/c since Feb/Mar. Bit of churn in US. Focus shifting to channel mgt and product mkting. - US h/c up from 49 to 52 - AUS h/c flat - UK h/c down from 17 to 16 - NZ h/c down from 111 to 103 18 vacancies published at endace.com | knackers
25/7/2012 19:46 | I see there was a 2,500 sell and no mark down today. Further supports that someone is indeed still buying [off the bid]? | knackers
25/7/2012 18:16 | I think you're getting close to the mark, Ed. That or it's an Imagination Technologies type situ. i.e. trade interest. If no disclosure tomorrow it really has to be one or the other, I just can't believe an Inst'l is out there filling their boots right now. That would be 'beyond' irregular! If anyone's in any doubt about the importance of this technology look at this article/interview featuring NetWitness (ex Endace tech partner) in Forbes today. They were bought by RSA after their highly embarassing breach and token ID compromise. So, "Is packet capture critical? Heck, yes!" First day of Black Hat conference in Vegas today. Endace are a last minute attendee, I wonder why last minute? | knackers
25/7/2012 16:31 | i should know this - if you are still buying, that stops them having to disclose? i can only think of one reason why someone would not want to disclose till you get to the 30% mark... | edwardt |
