"A typical well can have 20 fracs, each necessitating the procedure of blending, pressurizing and cracking. A typical frac job can last up to 20 hours — one frac stage per hour — from start to finish.
Once all the fracs are created, the downward pressure is removed from the well. Within a couple of days, the release of that pressure will reverse, allowing the oil and gas to flow from the rocks and up the well."

The frac procedure doesn't take that long, so its down to how long the approval process takes before anymore news on Dempsey.

Bit disappointed as wont be getting a fantastic Christmas present from EME this year (again) - but still looks very promising for 2018.

'Well....well....' Tom and Gaz I would imagine are now super keen to release the China Block 29/11 results once the 3d analysis are complete. Remembering that this is estimated to be around Christmas. What a buying oppertunity for an investment in this potentially transformational project. Again with Indonesia priced in and around 12p one does not need a calculator nor half a brain to figure this buying opportunity. I personally never got that excited about California BUT aknowledge it's potential. It has been a distraction from the China project. I still will not get excited nor disappointed about California my focus is, was and will be on China. Saying that it will be nice to see California do the business. I do sincerely think it will and the reward will be worth the effort. But I just don't feel the love that so many of you seem to have for it ! Anyway guys I trust all will work out here and that the wise snap up their stake at these bargin prices ! And stop panicking- what's coming down the tracks for EME will show the last few weeks decline as just a little blip on the charts this time next year. GLA and keep the faith ! HT

KwizzaMight explain why they didn't drill to the original target depth. Would also back up the view that these are the two zones reported in the volcanic level, therefore below the significant shows of the 'x' zones. No wonder they are keen to try and prove this up if that is the case. Remember the several Dempsey lookalike structures an addition to Alvarez? This has the potential to be huge. EME isn't SGC. For me it was all about China. But then Indonesia was a surprise bonus and now huge Dempsey potential essentially for free?Obviously not happy with the current handling of the news, but I think looking back in 6 - 12 months this will seem a steal.

The news isn't that bad but traders don't like delays. I am holding all and still up. 12p is nearly 20p in old money.

I think they are looking at the big picture here - to fully test the lower zones they can not move further up the well. If you believe ( as GJ seems to) the lower zones will provide the big bucks in time, you would not rush to the higher zones because you are cash restrained. You develop a strategy to get the data. Remember these results potentially feed into the well designs of the Dempsey lookalikes. I have no doubt that this will become a big profitable resource but it needs funding. They will get the funding but how and at what cost to the shareholders is the unknown. This is looking a very good LTH from these levels with China and Duyung in the wings. Many of the traders will be well down, but for those of us LTHs who can wait and can top up, this could be very good indeed.
Well done to Brimsley - he got his 12p in the end, however the game is far from over. GLA and AIMHO.

17p down to 12p on a delay.. come on are we really that much of a traders dream

Half price in just over a month.. where has reality gone? this is one project in three, and probably the smallest of them. We can wait months for china, why not a bit of fraccing?

Anyone who liked conspiracy theories might think that yesterdays debacle was orchestrated for some to get out at a higher price given todays news.

I see nothing to indicate fracking won't be allowed, far from it California's apparently quite for it (on the quiet).
