I guess that by having enough gas to flare off triggered the news from SGC. They probably thought if word got out, and they had said nothing, they would be in trouble with ASX. A flare off that size .. not something you can hide.

I hope they have learned the lesson that investors are very nervous, and don't put anything out until the 'commercial' news

Truly - with respect, he'd have looked a bit of a berk getting excited yet again and on the strength of that rns. There's a risk of paralysis by analysis here.Morning stewart - yep, agreed

TK was very upbeat about the but the RNS seems to have played a different tune, this is from the 4th October:

Empyrean CEO Tom Kelly commented, "Empyrean is pleased with the progress and planning being undertaken in order for the Dempsey 1-15 well to be tested safely and, if successful, placed into commercial production. This process is underway and the coming weeks will be very exciting as we reach critical stages of the testing program."

And from 18th September:
Tom Kelly, Empyrean CEO, commented "With multiple interpreted potential production zones now safely behind cemented casing, we now embark on an exciting flow testing program.

He didn't sound so excited on Tuesday.

Morning Terry,

Fully agree Tom should tell him exactly that, unless of course they have flow results from X4 and I am hoping these will be excellent, problem is we will move up from this level rather than 21p ish.

Just get it to flow commercial and tell us, the crew are working today so we could easily have news Sunday night.

Just poorly managed newsflow from the Aussie's, and a dodgy AIM market used to manipulate that sentiment taking advantage of the gap in time to whenever they next release an update.

So who thinks we will get an RNS for each zone? Has a precedent been set?Better buckle up for a bumpy ride!!!

TS I think you are right re the RNS. The MMs don't know what will happen as much as anyone here. Given the balance of probabilites they could well be selling these on for a 100% gain on Monday morning, so its worth them exploiting any sign of weakness to accumulate some on the cheap.

Why blame the mm's? It was the last RNS that caused investors to lose confidence and sell.

Not a leak. Just MM's playing their usual games and scaring loose sellers out of their shares. Too few investors with any bottle! All want massive % returns but won't take any risks...

A share doesn't drop 9% on no news unless it's organised selling / shorting.

A lot of sells marked as buys today as well.
