I've had a good chat with my mate, he puts the guys on the oil rigs/ survey ships/ Nordstream 2 pipeline etcSays it's a bit of an overkill using such a vessel, but they just change the equipment There are soooo many survey ships sitting idle throughout the world

blue...word on telegram is that 721 is a seismic survey vessel, not a seabed survey one...might need to track a different ship? Then again maybe it has been adapted to do both?

The navigation speed for the 3D seismic is 4.3 knots as stated on the contract doc over on the telegram group. All guesswork and assumptions. Hopefully TK will eventually decide to update us.

29#721 still about 30Nm NE yet still heading towards Jade.Only doing 4.4kt so in slow cruise (almost surfing).Thought this would be a day too early, but the wave heights chart is dropping quicker than was forecasted. Appears that the chinese sea captain has better intel on predicting the sea states than the western charts. Looks good for the survey starting over the weekend.
