This header was edited months ago when EMED changed it's name and therefore the BB was redundant. So stop posting complete nonesense Bad Robot and I have not edited any of my posts and I didn't notice anyone else did in the time the BB was active.

Emed now called Atalaya Mining, and I cut my losses a long time ago and so glad I did. Not feeling smug though, AIM shares, especially 'mining' rarely reward the PI's.

LLB that is exactly their approach.

The biggest hint in the presentation was the reference to the high grade multi metal complex ore and the production facility at Aguas Teñidas owned by Trafigura 25 kms away currently successfully processing similar ore. It would take a completely new process facility for Emed to process this complex ore. That would involve $100's millions of investment. This is currently outside of the reserve figures stated. That is the symbiotic relationship with major shareholders. Remember all the nonsense posted about aggressive Trafigura going to steal Emed away from shareholders. What has happened is that Trafigura and others have funded this at a much higher cost than you or I are exposed to and they are still shareholders and they now are in a position to facilitate the processing of the most complex ore. It will happen in due course I am sure.

I also like the reference to all the major shareholders interest in dividends. After some of the nonsense posted on this board about them just being interested in in a discounted off-take. Again confirmation that the off-takes are at spot and the same detail as they can get anywhere in the world.

The biggest de-risk however is the fact that the 2300 tons of Copper sitting in 10000 tons of concentrate is within tolerance to avoid penalties at the smelter.

Harry has nothing to do with this, he is not part of Emed. The consolidation is simply part of the development strategy that will take Emed from a explorer/developer to a producer. The company have advisors who have walked this path many times. The share price can rise but right now it is controlled by just a handful of low value trades. That will change very soon; Emed are growing up some of the shareholders however are still in kindergarten.

Mining Capital breakfast conference
29th September at the Brewery, 52 Chiswell Street, London EC1Y 4SD.

"Joining us for this event will be share price Angel mining analyst John Meyer, EMED Mining (AIM: EMED) & Galantas Gold (AIM:GAL, TSX:GAL), African Potash (AIM:AFPO). Further presenting companies will be announced in the coming week.

EMED Mining (AIM:EMED - Market Cap: £131m) is a European exploration and development company focused on the redevelopment of a historic open pit copper mine in southern Spain.

The reconstruction and refurbishment of the processing facilities are largely complete and EMED has signed offtake agreements for the first 15 years of production.

With all key permits now in place and a £65 million funding successfully completed back in June, EMED Mining is now looking to commence commercial production very shortly.

Chief Executive Alberto Lavandeira will be at the conference to outline the current opportunity for EMED Mining"

So, really cranking up the PR machine now and using the words "commercial production very shortly" as opposed to "producing concentrate".

That's because I'm not worried about the copper price CuFe. Remember, after EMED doubles I will sell half and hold the rest indefinitely.

The switch from EMED is a trading play. By trading GLEN I have reduced my average from 161 to 151, so I'm down around 15% ATMO, but this is one of the 5 biggest mining companies in the world and I'm up 5% on AAL which I also bought, giving me an overall loss of c£1000.

Meanwhile, the bid price for EMED is down about 9% from where I sold, i.e. c£1800, so I'm pretty relaxed...

Gives a bit more excitement than just watching EMED day after day, waiting for the inevitable....

Frankly, having 30% of my portfolio in EMED not earning anything was a bit rich, hence the reduction and diversification...

Cheers

Rougepierre

I don't recall you talking about the copper price much when you were telling us how many shares you were buying when you were averaging down and telling others what a great opportunity it was before you then started selling your shares at near multi year lows . . .

SORRY CUFE I CAN ONLY FIND 8 REFERENCES IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS....can't be bothered to go back and find all the rest.

I think you will find I have been one of the most consistent posters linking the price of EMED to the copper price...

Let me be clear: the prices of ALL copper miners are a direct function of the copper price. EMED is not immune...

AIMHO of course....

So...given that this is an established mine....with more resources likely...it becomes a straight punt on the medium/long term copper price...

Love your posts ted...

unlike lango...desperately deramping again...

enough cash to last into May.

doesnt sound like theres a 4th party from the RNS (negotiating with the 3...)

How is that anyone cannot see that, the closer we get to production, the greater the certainty, the higher the Cu price, the higher the share price ...

rougepierre - 05 May 2015 - 12:01:29 - 48714 of 53259
And here's the thing....

AS recently as January the Copper price was sub $2.50...it's now $2.89 after the recent spike....that's a 16% hike....

Things can only get better......

Makes sense waterloo...and many times that if once the resource upgrades are factored in and when the copper price is much higher. There is a powerfull metric in the Edison report that defines the non-linear (exponential?) effect of the copoef price on EMEDs valuation.

rougepierre - 14 Jul'15 - 18:57 - 51622 of 51667

To put a positive spin on this, because everybody moans about EMED and its management.

BECAUSE EMED is such a huge resource; and will be commercial very soon; AND it will be mining mainly copper....

The share price is a DIRECT CONSEQUENCE of the copper price.

1 Nobody suggested MMs were shorting EMED for Traf; however, ShoreCap are acting for someone...

2 We've had a good recovery since last Thursday; the share price needs to consolidate and shake out any short term traders

3 Looking at the chart, we may well now be heading up the right hand side of a reverse head and shoulders which started last December; in which case the intermediate target for this share is c6.5p (surprise lango...) with a longer term recovery to 10p or more...

4 So much depends on the copper price because of the strong correlation with the EMED sp

Well said Rich1e...

Meanwhile Reba, this is the reason we are down today:

"The UK mining index slid 4.6 percent to a six-year low and recorded its biggest one-day percentage drop since January as metals fell sharply. Diversified global miner Anglo American fell 5.6 percent to a 13-year low. Basic resources stocks are being hammered by weak metals prices as there are question marks over metals demand from top consumer China"

Husbod what gives you that idea. I think you will find that there has been no decision made about any future dividends. Any other projects entered into will have no impact on dividends as the profit will be substantial and they certainly will not be spending that kind of money elsewhere. It is in the major shareholders interest to pay dividends as they receive them as well as us and they are here for appreciation of their investment. They still have to fulfil their off-take agreements regardless of the dividend situation.
Dividends will be decided upon at the appropriate time by those empowered to do so. That is the point of the mixed interest board.

Emed, as a producer, is just another stock jockeying for position in its sector. We are a miner. If miners do well so shall we. If it continues to be a blighted sector, Emed has further to fall. If you take a positive position on copper there is hope for us all. There will be little AIM interest in Emed as there are no possibilities of surprise on the upside. Those were wasted years ago. I have been averaging down because I am a gambler that does not like losing his stake. Every rns from Emed means more of the same big nothing. The ramping entity on this board is after your money. Nothing else.
