The placing was in effect @.264 - 45% fees lol, actions like that is what gives AIM stocks a poor story as it misleads investors in believing King Asia actually paid .48 when they obviously didn't.

Negative sentiment around for aim stocks I guess, I'll see how this trades next week, will look for an entry point once some big buying comes in.

John you maybe need to be quick as they have cut back the online purchase amount to 100K now so looks like a move higher may be on the cards.

RR> I think they have just raised a sum via a placement @ .48p I will line up a few grand for investment here once I have had time to look into this a bit more, I have checked back on my notes from some weeks ago and this is the Company the analyst on CNBC was referring to, I guess its a bit below the radar for most but could be worth a punt.

That could explain all the buying the last couple of days John. See what you can find out as it will be interesting but does look like a good recovery play.

I'm sure these were tipped a short while ago on CNBC from an analyst in the sector who had them down as a recovery play over the coming year, mentioned this one and a couple of others. I'll have to look more into this one, could represent some sort of value?

Best part of 70million shares traded post Xmas, which is well over 3%!!!!! (by my calculation 25%+)

Much bigger % of "free" shares not in hands of CEO.

Where is the announcement? Who is buying and why?

ELEP.L
28 December 2007ELEPHANT LOANS & MORTGAGES PLC
("Elephant Loans" or the "Company")Trading StatementThe general "credit crunch", and in particular, the problems within the sub-prime mortgage market are well known by
now. Conditions have improved since the trading update made in October, and the level of business completed in November was
at the average level achieved during the first half of the financial year. The Company is starting to reap the cost
benefits of the changes announced in October, although the full gains will not be felt until the next financial year.
A
series of further cost reductions have been made since October to ensure the company is able to focus on its core
activities. The Affiliate Partner contracts signed over the past few months are also starting to contribute to revenue.
Cost reductions that will generate savings in excess of £1m per annum have been actioned since the end of the
half-year,
but the cash position remains tight.
The Board is confident of a much improved performance during the second half of the current financial year, it would be
prudent to assume that results for the year will be below the market forecasts made last summer due to the weak
performance during the first half and the continued impact of the "credit crunch".

Interims due next month ............ may give clues.

Talk to the sales team and they say they have more good leads than ever..... but the market is undoubtedly tough.

Spread is horrid, volumes low, so trading unattractive.
