13/5/2016 18:25 | 20 th January this year he had 6.47% tiger | castleford tiger
13/5/2016 18:19 | Well he did have 5.7% and appears to have 6.1% now and the 6% threshold was crossed so i would say he has increased his holding. ...unless the penny has finally droped and he is bailing out which is what he should have done at 50p :-) or 40p or 30p or 20p or even 10p | blackss
13/5/2016 18:16 | ok well one of the statements must be wrong. there is no other reason but % holding seems to be down. better ring him and ask the question. tiger | castleford tiger

13/5/2016 12:41 | I would read it he has increased from 10850000 to 11350000 I was saying years ago when this crowd started on their destruction of Hartest their PR department was non-existent. They then went through a phase of not being able to pay their bills so it’s amazing they have any suppliers/agents left at all. Hooray for factoring. Their infatuation with Checkit must be demoralising for the group as a whole as they will know all money and hope is channelled into this one product if we are to believe the RNS of recent times? Very odd as on their own admission Bulgin is the only thing making money and keeping the whole thing afloat albeit drifting without a rudder. I am still very much of the opinion that this is a private company in all but name and run for the benefit of a few. Shareholders have always been largely ignored, even the institutional investors like Downing who were calling for Daleys resignation years ago were dismissed. Since then the turn over, profits and company itself have continued to shrink proving Downing right all along. What makes this whole setup so strange is the continued support of the half dozen major shareholder for the management? They have seen their investments share price go from 50p to 5p, turnover from £60 to £40m and profits completely disappear. They have seen subsidiaries bought and sold at a loss, crazy extravagant investment in Offices 260 miles away from their manufacturing base? Investments in overseas facilities abandoned and even when the purchased a complete up and running profit making concern like Hartest they managed to pick that to pieces in double quick time and ended up with a loss for the group? If anyone can pinpoint a single success for this company in the last 5 years, then go ahead and let’s have a discussion? Sadly, the chart speaks for itself. | blackss
13/5/2016 12:22 | Do I read this correctly. Nick you have reduced?? Tiger | castleford tiger
13/5/2016 12:01 | Hi Garb Yes i comment in Jest but also in sadness that after all these years the basic failings of this company are just the same as they were 6 years ago. Customer relations have always been very poor and investor relations even worse in my humble opinion. | blackss
13/5/2016 11:11 | Hi Black Not sure if I detect humour? Whether buying direct, or via a distributor, I've normally found (and would expect) the manufacturer eager to talk about their product, recommend alternatives and point one towards sources of hard to find stock. I've still not heard anything, so have sent a 3rd message to Andy Weatherstone : Hi Andy Still not heard anything. Hard not to draw the conclusion that I'm not of interest as a customer. I'll look elsewhere. Regards I'd much prefer my investments to have a huge number of small customers, rather than be over-reliant on one or two big ones....... If anyone is going to their AGM, I'll happily have a chat. Meanwhile, why on earth would I want to invest? | garbetklb
12/5/2016 17:02 | Come off it Garbetklb ? £350 a decent commitment. I expect Daley's bubbly plonk bill comes to that an hour. Spec7 is quite right, you will need to go to a supplier or better still find a company that's interested in customers. If Elektrons interest in their shareholders is a measure of their interest in customers you are on a losing wicket mate. More to the point where are the years financials here ? and how many Checkit contracts have they signed ? this really is proving to be the longest drawn out lingering death ! I just hope someone can rescue Bulgin from the ashes. | blackss
11/5/2016 23:27 | ...I'll bet you can source as many as you want on ebay. | someuwin
11/5/2016 22:52 | I was pretty impressed by the initial, almost instant, reply. Since then absolutely nothing, despite a chaser. I'm pretty sure the item has been discontinued, but there's a good chance they have something similar in another range. And I am a genuine user who would tend to have brand loyalty and a steady, albeit modest, useage. These connectors seem to be mainly aimed at the hobby / prototype / limited run market - mass market stuff would tend to use connectors with crimped pins, rather than screw fittings. They are good quality, very flexible - but definitely not cheap. There are connectors available that are at least as good, so no point in being complacent. Decent service plus a good dollop of inertia are v powerful. I'm now off to look at connectors produced by an American rival. Had a similar experience with Sprue Aegis (where I was a shareholder) a while back - Screwfix were selling one of their products; problem being that Sprue had no mention of it on their website. Complaining several times via the website / to marketing produced useless answers (Website outsourced, not scheduled for an update etc). Complaining to the (?) FD produced instant results. Bulgin are a v old, v steady brand - which would typically appeal to the type of user who would want to be able to pick up the phone for support. What a shame. | garbetklb
11/5/2016 17:30 | Just looking in here for the results ??? Nothing changes does it.. Ha ha yes sounds about right Garb | spec7
11/5/2016 10:13 | EKT is a company I looked at a couple of times, but didn't invest for all the reasons given here. However, I'm in the middle of a project kitting out a boat and am using a good number of Bulgin Buccaneer connectors - about 50 of them at a retail price of around £7/£8 a go. So a decent commitment. The product brochure shows a particular connector, but the major distributors (RS, Farnell etc) are showing it as discontinued. So I thought I'd check with Bulgin - and, if discontinued, maybe get steered towards someone with old stock. Or pointed towards a replacement item - maybe from their newer ranges. Problem 1 - their website contact details only show a web enquiry form, whereas I'd prefer to talk to a real person. No Bulgin phone no. Problem 2 - at 8.56 on Monday morning I emailed Andy Weatherstone commenting on this as I thought that might get me in touch with them. At 8.59 he emailed back saying someone would be in touch. They have not. Yesterday (Tuesday)at 11.35, I emailed him again : "Hi Andy Not heard anything. The project I'm working on (an ex-RNLI boat) involves about 50 new Buccaneer connectors, so it's not a pie in the sky enquiry....... If the item I was planning on using is discontinued, maybe there's a replacement?" As of now (Wed 10.11), still complete silence from Bulgin. So, doesn't seem as if they are interested in an actual customer who wants to buy more of their product. And, from the comments above, this is the profitable bit of the company! Any thoughts?? 25/4/2016 14:59 | simon ( or anyone ) sorry this is off topic. granting of director options. does anyone understand the full Black-Scholes valuation model. This seems to be used most but within there is volatility. So to issue a t/s to get the share price down and then issue based on current price should be taken care of. Just trying to get my facts right on something anyone help? Tiger | castleford tiger
22/4/2016 22:07 | Question Why would the defendant's solicitor prepare a bill for costs before the appeal permission hearing when they haven't been asked to attend nor is it normal to seek costs of the permission appeal? Practice direction 52C Respondent’s costs of permission applications 20. (1) "There will normally be no order for the recovery of the costs of a respondent’s written statement. In most cases an application for permission to appeal will be determined without the need for the respondent to attend a hearing. In such circumstances an order for costs will not normally be made in favour of a respondent who voluntarily attends a hearing." | simon templar qc
22/4/2016 19:40 | MRF I don't rely on luck. The pursuing a derivative action was always going to be difficult as permission was needed to proceed. I wouldn't give up hope at this point in time justice doesn't always play out the way people sometimes think. People shouldn't count their chickens before they are hatched and its too early to start to pop the cork with champagne for those that were hoping my attempt to seek redress would fail. What the general public do not know is Daley and ORS solicitor prepared a bill for their attendance at the court of appeal last Wednesday, which amounted to over £13,000. Neither the company solicitors nor the defendants solicitors were allowed to claim attendance costs! | simon templar qc
21/4/2016 02:36 | Absolutely MRF Its all a game to management who get paid peer beating wages and bonuses regardless so what do they care ? | blackss
20/4/2016 23:28 | Bad luck Mr Bridge, but it was an admirable effort and sticking to ones principles should never be something to be ashamed of.I see the shareprice has not fallen which obviously shows no one was expecting a positive outcome holding on for hope value.I expect the results will confirm yet again Microgens very fair and generous offer would have been the most reasonable ending here. What a total shambles! | my retirement fund
20/4/2016 16:34 | The latest news had zero effect on the share price. Elektron remains illiquid and uninvestable imho. | wistleblower
20/4/2016 15:26 | The great gravy train rumbles on for a very select and apparently unaccountable few. | blackss |
