hybrasil: I bought this about 9 years ago. What rubbish. Despite acquisition after acquisition its share price has tumbled.
ferries5: Information and publishing company Electric Word has acquired medical publisher Radcliffe Publishing in a deal worth up to £2 million. Electric Word, which serves the education and sports sectors, bought the company for an initial consideration of around £1 million, plus performance related payments of up to £1 million over the next two years. The rns was very vague about the investor they want to buy out (Stewart Newton ???). As for minimal discount, The share price was dropped just before the annoucement and reinstated after it. Also I do not think the £2.4 m raised will include the £1 m performance fee. Does that mean more dilution.!! This company has been listed for 10 years now, hardly a success story.
edale: A placing, a profit warning and an aquisition all on one day and not a trade executed in the next two days ??? Is it good news or bad ?? On balance it looks good to me but only time will tell. Obviously the profit warning was bad but getting the placement at a minimal discount to the share price was positive as was the support by the two biggest share holders. From a quick look at the web site Radcliffe look to have some interesting publications in the health sector and EW seem to believe they can develop the offering in what is a new area for them. However do these two shareholders hold too big a proportion of the shares for comfort ? This has looked like a company that would blossom at some stage but never seems to quite make it. I have held for some time and will continue to hold for the time being.
edale: You may be right but I thought that all took place at the end of Aug, early Sept. There were lots of RNSs around that time giving changes in holdings. Anyway another 2 mill changed hands today and an 0.25p increase in share price so whatever is happening hopefully it is positive.
dealit: On the face of it I would agree the results don`t appear to be bad, more important at present the market as not moved on the share price. Do not know if the placing is marked for Institutions, if so don`t see any problem. If ELE are asking the small investor to pay off their debt not very good and I would feel the share price will drop.
dealit: The trading statement was positive last May, if the results back the statement the share price should be around the 5/6p mark IMHO. Their was some buying today which also looks encouraging.
albcamus: I can't say how the share price would react next week but this stock is dirt cheap imho. The share price could double from this level before it starts to look fairly priced. I think patience will be rewarded eventually.
tryone2: this company is definetly run for the benifit of the directors, with such a low share price, or perhaps there should be an extraordinary meeting called to see whats really going on
tryone2: why dont you stop throwing money down the drain and pay a dividend, surely the share price must tell the Directors something
hoggetwood: This is typical ELE share price behaviour. At present ELE has only a small following of investors. Price drifts downwards between statements or announcements. But these almost always contain encouraging news, and the share price spikes upward. ELE seems to me to be an extremely well run company which is slowly getting bigger and better. One to hold for the long term, or to trade from troughs to peaks, as these seem to be as predictable as you'll get for a share price. [I write just a long term holder (with occasional top-ups), and have no special knowledge.]
