No doubt having bought your 3000 shares you will now have the pleasure of seeing them gradually fall, this company havent done any thing for the share holders when I purchased my shares several years ago at 10p guess how much of a return i have had, this firm is run for the benifit of the directors only!!

Thanks Ikos. I had already decided to continue to hold. I think this will come good in the end.

It is now known that there will be severe reductions in public spending which are expected to have both a
positive and a negative impact on this division. In the short-term schools' confidence to spend money on
resources for both children and teacher education is likely to suffer.

Phew:
Lot of reading in to days results!
The operation is transparent and with on a very solid footing with finances and focused on profit and cash generation. Proven. I don't see any reason to be cynical about this.
It all looks very good to me . The guys are very well experienced and with definite well founded optimism.
Towards the end there is the interesting note about the Sports Business division. I have pasted below. Note growth comments about affiliate division of igaming and growth prospects. Cream on a very nice cake?

sport business division

+-------------------------------+----------+----------+----------+
| (GBP'000) | 2010 | 2009 | CHANGE |
+-------------------------------+----------+----------+----------+
| Revenue | 2,420 | 2,162 | 12% |
+-------------------------------+----------+----------+----------+
| Adjusted EBITA* | 364 | 295 | 23% |
+-------------------------------+----------+----------+----------+
| Margin | 15% | 14% | |
+-------------------------------+----------+----------+----------+

The division has again grown revenue, this period by 12% as a result of event
revenues increasing 40% across both the Business of Sport and iGaming sectors.
Advertising revenues are up 6%, due to timing on an iGaming directory which was
published in H2 in 2009. Excluding that, advertising revenue would be down by
over 5%, as expected, with 2009 boosted by the bidding for the 2016 Olympics.

Revenue in the TV Sports Markets niche, which tracks and analyses sports rights
deals, has grown by 17% with the potential for further growth in profits and
margins as the business adds increasingly high-value products and services.
Profits have increased 23% compared to the same period last year and margins
have remained stable at 15% (14% in 2009) with continued care and attention.

Whilst the various niches within this division's markets remain resilient to the
economic cycles, the affiliate market of iGaming Business remains the growth
sector within this division. In this period iGaming again ran its London
Affiliate program attracting over 2,000 delegates and it ran an inaugural super
show staged in Prague and covering both its affiliate and B2B markets across the
iGaming space.

ita about time electric word had a visit to see where all the monies going, and why the shareholders put up with not receiving any dividends, yet the so called management can buy share's for next to nothing. perhaps Panmure Gordon can explain the comments 'Buy"

Good comment on ELE today in The Times under 'Tiddler to watch':
"Electric word, a provider of sport and education information over the internet, jumped 0.38p to 4.75p after unveiling an 8% rise in profits to £1.9m. Panmure Gordon, its broker, again urged clients to "buy", arguing that the company's valuation and strategy should encourage investors this year."
Would be nice if this sort of comment could stimulate a bit more positive investor interest in the company!

The way this company is run especially My Child, its a wonder its still trading, no one has answered my last question of how can a company consistantly have a high turnover and not make a profit, or is this like so many other companies, run for the benefit of the Directors only.

Nice to see some recent activity on this, having been dormant for so long. Have held these since they were first launched and largely forgot about them except for a brief spell in Jan 2007 when they nearly reached 11p. Lets hope this is the 'new beginning'... I certainly think I've been patient enough...!

Steady as she goes. Any reason for the rise? Are we expecting results to be better than 'in line with predictions'?

You may be right but I thought that all took place at the end of Aug, early Sept. There were lots of RNSs around that time giving changes in holdings. Anyway another 2 mill changed hands today and an 0.25p increase in share price so whatever is happening hopefully it is positive.

Looks like connected with the placing to raise some 3.5 million and clear loans etc. that placing is at 3.65 and looks like largely or all being raised by substantial connected parties. I think all is transparent but to a lay man looks complicated. There seems to be some major transfer to pension fund probably for normal tax purposes. That placing was at a 10% discount to the then trading price of 4p.
All in all looks a tidying up exercise and sensible refinanace of historical loan with company carry very little debt after wards. certainly looks to me like a show of confidence by the investors who clearly are very close to to the company.
I am no expert but overall home in on that placing price and the record of growth and performance to date & feel that all is well underpinned.
Look forward to seeing the next news items.
I don't know why the multiple transaction on the trades site all show just bellow the 3.65p that was mentioned for the placing.(3.30)may be net of expenses but just guessing.
All very interesting.
