It helps English players to play with, or against, the likes of Bergkamp, Henry and Vieira. But I agree there are far too many average Jose's, Jean Pierre's, Bastian's, and Illie's in the English leagues, purely, and only, for the money.

The English clubs are equally to blame for buying them in the first place.

One of the repercussions of brexit, within 2 or 3 years, will be that much less foreign players will be allowed to be play for English clubs, so hopefully the ones that do will be the best.

We had no foreigners playing in England in 1966 and we won the world cup.

Multiculturalism = mediocrity. We are not even mediocre, we are worse than that.

Responsible for selecting the next England manager - Martin Glen, Dan Ashworth & David Gill, well that's alright then, full confidence in them getting the selection right then. Think Gill will be pushing for Moyesy....

I think we need someone in charge that will give more leadership than Hodgson did. I'd go for Jeremy Corbyn myself. He can't do any worse.

I am going to defend Jack Wilshere. At his best, he is England's best midfielder, and fitness allowing, will be a mainstay of the team for the next 6 years at least.

Obviously, thats a big ask, as he doesnt do being fit very well, but he is class, as he has proven when playing for England when fit.

Alli can also become a very good player. He's just a kid who played for Mk Dons last year.

I dont think Kane is international class, nor are any of the defenders. We will have to hope Stones develops quickly. Rooney has to go. China or Mars would suit.

Vardy is just a hard working player, suitable for Leicester, but not the national team, and Sterling seems to have gone backwards in the last 2 years.

This would be my team to qualify and let us down in the next world cup in Russia.

Manager: Glenn Hoddle

Forster

Clyne Stones Smalling Gibbs

Dier Henderson

Barclay Wilshere Alli

Rashford

I am hoping a good centre back emerges to replace Smalling.

LOL i have a small amount of sympathy in that it wasnt Roy who kept him in the job after the World Cup . The bods in charge should have got rid . So in a way he has almost been allowed to lead us to a disaster that he was never capable of avoiding .
I have no idea who kept him in post , but they should be falling on their sword if they are still in position .

I like FA guy larging the qualifying performance .

We beat who exactly in qualifying ?

Our tournament performances over the years are completely abysmal , lets face it .

He's deluded, he thinks they played well prior to the Iceland game, they couldn't beat Russia, arguably the worst team in the tournament, they were lucky to beat Wales and they couldn't beat Slovakia and they scored 4 goals in total and he thinks they are a good squad of players. Possibly the worst England Manager ever. The FA should withhold his pay snd give it to the fans who spent their hard earned to watch this dross.

What Roy's changed his mind about press conf - must be like his explanation for Kane taking corners, he is the best striker of a ball in the squad - and the very next game Rooney takes all the corners. The man is a fraud.

You've all missed the point.

Given what happened to the pound recently he should never have played Sterling.

Baffled why he played Wilshere and dropped Lallana, who had played well previously.

Then he brings on Rashford for about 3 1/2 minutes...

Let's hope Iceland beat France. It would be some consolation.
