06/6/2016 16:07 | worth a speculative punt at these levels - the Nigeria crisis will be righted, troops will be sent in soon. We have people working in Lagos, Harcourt and occasionally wharrie and the word is that things will settle. Villagers who normally get a kick back from the oilcos have had their share dwindle with the falling POO and it has bitten hard, and they are understandably bitter (but probably unaware of world metrics relating to POO) - Nigeria need the oil (they have sfa else really apart from circa 130,000,000 people to feed). Our guys returned to Nigeria after probably 2 1/2 years away and are quite shocked at the difference in those few years away wrt poverty, begging and general sentiment.... not a good situation but by biting off the hand that feeds them its not the brightest thing to do is it | adg
06/6/2016 09:04 | Possibly a bit of short closing early on? Can't see why anyone else would buy now. Friday's RNS was crass - it didn't come out until AFTER my 60 second trawl found out about the new Forcados pipeline sabotage. It was idiotic to put out the RNS without checking the facts first and they should have been ready to pull it at short notice if the stories were correct. The market is often well informed about breaking news. So the company's official line is STILL that there's been no new damage. Maybe they should speak to Shell, who have been publicly talking about it...... I know, I'm not invested here so I should keep my opinions to myself. I'll exit stage left. | hiddendepths
04/6/2016 15:52 | Even at 30p the risk of constant problems and the pointlessness of holding oil stocks means there is no reason to invest here. | iicb
03/6/2016 12:34 | RNS just now...."The company confirms that it is not aware of any incidents on its properties and confirms that the Company's continuing maintenance and operational activity remains unaffected." In the meantime..... BREAKING: Niger Delta Avengers, again, blow up Shell Forcados pipeline About 24 hours after blowing up two pipelines in Bayelsa state, militant group, Niger Delta Avengers have again, blown up the Trans-Forcados Pipeline. The Forcados 48″ export line, which is operated by SPDC, belongs to the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). The Avengers initially attacked the Shell’s Forcados underwater flow line in February and the facility was undergoing repairs when it was again, blown up around 3:00am on Friday morning. The group said it had warned against the repair of the pipeline but the SPDC refused to heed their warning. | dukedosh
